Update - Prayer site update:
Some good news. I had my first post-op appt at the Heart Clinic on Thursday. They did a divine checkup. My surgeon chose the Boston Scientific pacemaker as it has 12 years of batter life. During the check it registered as having 13 years of batter life. They took off the steri-strips that were placed over the sutures, and cleaned around the wound site. The stitches will dissolve on their own. They gave me a sheet with some more dues and don’ts, and the sheet included expiration dates for various restrictions; such as how much weight I can lift with the left arm, the earliest I could have an MRI, the earliest I can go to a dentist, etc..
Continue to pray for Ric, for healing to go well and he sticks to Drs orders.
Please pray for Ric.
It has been an interesting week. The pulse field ablation for A-flutter and A-fib went very, very well on Tuesday. However, they could not get the heartbeat to regulate properly. Apparently on the posterior side of the heart are several sites of scar tissue, which is age related (gee, it’s so nice to be in my 70s…NOT), that’s why more and more elderly are having pacemakers.
They put a temporary pacemaker in during the A-flutter surgery.
The surgeon was in Wednesday morning and said that the temporary pacemaker had not turned things around. So at 2pm Wednesday afternoon they implanting the permanent pacemaker. And they kept me overnight again.
I have quite a few restrictions for the next six weeks pertaining to the left arm; such as no raising the left arm above the head or behind the back, pushing or pulling (lawn mower, vacuuming, shoveling), limiting more than ten pounds, etc.
Prayers continue to be appreciated.
