“It could never happen here.” That kind of false security left a Hollywood Hills mansion open to five break-ins. On Sunday, Pastor Stefan asked a harder question: are we really ready for Jesus’ return, or are we just assuming? Watch the full message on Luke 12.

Time tests what we’re building. On Sunday, Pastor Stefan talked about two structures that both faced the same seawater. One collapsed. The other grew stronger. What is time doing to your faith? Watch the full message from our series on Luke 12.

Ever notice you didn’t care about the stock market until you had money in it? Or about your furniture until the kids started carving into it? 😅 Jesus says it works the same way spiritually. Want a heart for the poor, for missions, for heaven? Your heart will follow wherever you put your treasure. From Sunday’s message at Manoa Church.

“I’m preaching to me, because sometimes I wake up anxious.” Worry is like a rocking chair: lots of motion, no progress. Jesus asks, “Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life?” Next time anxiety wakes you up, take it to your Heavenly Father. From Sunday’s message at Manoa Church.

300 children were waiting for breakfast and there was no food in the house. George Müller had them sit down anyway and thanked God for what He was about to provide. Moments later, a baker was at the door. 🍞 If God takes care of the ravens, He will take care of you.

Is it wrong to save money? Short answer: no. Joseph stored up grain during seven years of plenty, and it saved a nation.

The difference between saving and hoarding comes down to purpose and attitude. Saving for college, a car, or a rainy day is wise. Saving just to have more is what made the rich man in Luke 12 a fool.

Jesus isn’t asking us for anything He hasn’t already given. Though He was rich, He became poor so that in Him we could become spiritually rich (2 Corinthians 8:9).

Pastor Stefan reminds us that our giving doesn’t earn God’s love. It answers it. And it frees us from chasing “a little more” for the rest of our lives.

What would change if you believed you already have everything you need in Christ?

We live in the biggest homes in human history, and we still rent space for what won’t fit.

In Luke 12, Jesus tells about a rich man whose answer to a big harvest was to tear down his barns and build bigger ones. We don’t build barns anymore. We rent storage units. Pastor Stefan asks what it would look like to stop collecting and start living for the right harvest.

What are you holding onto that could do more good in someone else’s hands?

From “Trading Glory for Grain,” Luke 12:13-21.

Greed always looks left and right, and it always finds someone with a bigger piece.

Pastor Stefan retells Aesop’s fable of the greedy dog to show what Jesus warned about in Luke 12: life does not consist in an abundance of possessions. The cure for greed isn’t more stuff. It’s contentment in Christ.

Where are you most tempted to compare your life to someone else’s?

Would you wear your Eagles jersey in enemy territory? 🦅 Just like we boldly rep our team, Jesus calls us to openly own our relationship with Him—everywhere we go, no matter who's watching. That's what it means to be a fearless friend of Jesus.
