College gets busy fast.

Classes, assignments, work, friendships, organizations, church, Bible study, and everything else competing for your attention.

But here’s the question: Are you making time to actually be with Jesus?

In John 15, Jesus doesn’t tell His disciples to occasionally check in with Him. He says, “Abide in me.”

Remain. Stay. Be connected.

Following Jesus isn’t just about adding more Christian activities to your schedule. It’s about building rhythms that keep you connected to Jesus in the middle of your everyday life.

So here’s your challenge for the next 7 days:

Choose ONE daily rhythm with Jesus.

Maybe it’s Scripture before your phone.
Maybe it’s praying on your walk to class.
Maybe it’s five quiet minutes before your day begins.
Maybe it’s praying with a friend.

It doesn’t have to be complicated.

Start small. Stay consistent. Stay connected.

“Abide in me, and I in you.”
John 15:4

If you’re a college student trying to figure out your whole life, save this and send it to a friend who feels behind.

Purpose usually shows up one faithful step at a time — not all at once, and not with a perfect plan. Just a yes to what’s in front of you.

And honestly, some of the biggest turning points come through the people around us: community, mentors, and the friend who says, “You’re not alone. Come with me. I’ve got you.”

That’s what changed everything here. Not having it all figured out — just staying open, paying attention, and obeying the next step.

College can create a lot of pressure to figure everything out.

What should I major in?
What career should I choose?
What am I supposed to do with my life?

But discovering your purpose doesn’t mean God gives you a map of the next 20 years.

Sometimes purpose looks like paying attention to what God has already given you, noticing the needs around you, and taking the next faithful step.

Ephesians 2:10 reminds us that we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works.

So instead of beginning every day asking, “What am I supposed to do with my life?” try asking:

“God, how can You use me today?”

Pay attention. Be available. Take the next step.

Your purpose may become clearer as you faithfully follow Jesus right where you are.

Following Jesus isn’t another thing to squeeze into college - it changes the whole rhythm.
If you’re trying to figure out faith, friendship, school, and life at the same time, save this and send it to a friend who feels the same pressure. 📌

It’s not about building a perfect spiritual schedule.

It’s about building a life where Jesus actually fits into everything.

You can have a packed schedule and still have no real rhythm for following Jesus.

Class. Work. Friends. Meetings. Homework. The gym. Weekends.

And somewhere in all of that, we can start asking, “Where am I supposed to fit Jesus?”

But maybe that’s the wrong question.

Colossians 3:17 says, “Whatever you do…”

Following Jesus isn’t about finding one more open spot on your calendar for God. It’s about allowing Jesus to transform the way you live everything already on it.

How would following Jesus change the way you approach class?

Your friendships?

Dating?

Your money?

Your Friday night?

The moments when nobody else is watching?

You don’t have to change everything tomorrow. Start with one rhythm.

Choose one simple thing you can do every day that intentionally turns your attention toward Jesus.

Then do it tomorrow.

And the next day.

And the next.

Because following Jesus isn’t another activity on your college schedule.

Following Jesus changes how you live the whole schedule.

What are you actually living for?

That question is easy to answer with the “right” Christian response. Of course, we want to say Jesus.

But what if we looked a little closer?

What gets the best of your time?
What do you think about when no one else is around?
What are you chasing?
What are you afraid of losing?
What determines whether you think you’ve had a good week or a bad one?

Paul writes in Philippians 1:21:

“For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.”

Not “to live is success.”
Not “to live is comfort.”
Not “to live is getting the degree, landing the job, finding the relationship, or building the perfect future.”

“To live is Christ.”

That doesn’t mean classes, friendships, relationships, careers, goals, and fun don’t matter. It means Jesus becomes the center that helps us understand where all of those things belong.

So maybe the question this week isn’t simply, “Do I believe in Jesus?”

Maybe it’s:

Does the way I’m living show that Jesus is actually at the center?

Sit with that question this week.

What if the thing that changes a student’s life isn’t another program, but a person who notices them?

A year ago, Divyan walked by Southern Miss Wesley at 3200 Montague Boulevard, right in the heart of campus.

He was new to town. He had traveled from around the world. He was looking for something new, but more than that, he was looking for Christian community.

And he found it.

Leaders, college students do not always need another program. They need relationships. They need people who will meet them where they are, learn their story, invite them in, and journey with them.

As we minister in the collegiate setting, we can spend a lot of time trying to create the next best program. But when we choose to emphasize relationships, we will meet students every time.

A year later, Divyan is no longer simply walking by Wesley.

He is helping lead worship for our Church on Campus.

That is why we do what we do.

A student walks through the door looking for community, and over time, God uses relationships, worship, Scripture, and the presence of others to shape their life.

We connect students to transformation in Jesus and life-giving community.
