What are you doing this weekend?

::

I recently lifted up how we need to follow the example of the church in Antioch and simply talk with non-believers about the Lord Jesus. It was encouraging to me to have a few of you follow up asking for tips on how to do that, so I want to share a suggestion.

What if today you simply ask someone who may not be a Christian what their plans are for the weekend? Then, sincerely listen to and interact with their answer. If they then ask you what you’re doing this weekend (they likely will), just mention, among other things, that you are excited to attend worship on Sunday. You might even get specific about why you are excited to come to worship. Alternately, if you don’t get to it today, come Monday you can ask what they did this past weekend and if they ask you the same question, you can mention having attended worship and something about it.

That’s how you open the door. By taking a real interest in others and particularly those who are not believers, you will have a chance to share the good news about the Lord Jesus.
