The Exit & The Victory

The enemy never stops opening the exit door for us. The opportunity is always there. Jesus knows this and we need to give ourselves credit for not walking away because it means everything to the lord. He knows we’ll never be perfect, that’s why he came to pay the price for our sin. He’s not surprised by our failures and struggles. But nothing ignites his grace for us more than when we have every opportunity to walk away but in our suffering and shame we still choose to believe he is good. When we shake off the lies of the enemy and stand up beaten and bleeding and raise our hands in the air and say “no matter what this world throws at me, I know that God is good and his mercy’s endure forever…” it’s living in this level of repentance and faith in Gods goodness that makes demons run right back to their pit in hell and leave you along. True Christianity is messy, clumbsy, and a life of suffering the waves of hells fury. But when we’re courageous enough to simply believe in Gods goodness, things change. Mountain move, and bo***ge is broken. We renew our strength and mount up on wings like eagles. We learn to fly into the winds of this world’s struggles and soar like eagles. Victory is established and we become more than conquerors in Christ Jesus. It’s never going to come easy, and all of hell will fight you but greater is he within me than the attacks of this defeated fore. Faith, hope, and love… with the greatest of these being love. Notice how that scripture doesn’t say perfect obedience? Yes, we are called to holy living, yes, we are held to a higher level of accountability, and grace never makes sin safe. But God desires for us is to keep marching on in faith, even when we have no strength to continue. It’s only in our brokenness that he can use us and grow us. And comfort is rarely compatible with growth. Just know you are not alone in this human experience. Connect with your brothers and sisters that help you and challenge you to your next higher level of good. Jesus doesn’t just love you… he likes you because you refuse to give up. He sees the condition of your heart, and knows who you really are. Yet he still invites you to set and share a meal with him. To talk about things and reason together about his desires to heal your hurts habits and hang ups. It’s all about choice, it always has been. Will you choose to see his goodness in spite of your suffering, or will you choose to listen to the lies of the enemy telling you that you’ll never be enough. Victory is in your power to choose. Glory! 🙌🏻

Hey guys JR here, below is a copy and paste from a counseling conversation I was having today with one of my guys. This brother struggles with seeing purpose in the human experience here on earth. The enemy fights him constantly with lies of God basically being a big bully who is distance and could care less about our suffering. This brother and I are very good friends and we’ve been wrestle with these ideas for about 5 years now. He knows the truth and is in no threat of hell, he is just honestly struggling with a lot of big picture purpose about this whole experience here on earth. I think we all have struggled with that at one point or another so they are valid questions. He reached out to me this morning asking for prayer about these lies of distraction he is struggling with. Here’s my reply… I felt like God wanted me to share this. I’ll be doing a podcast episode about this entire subject later. It’s a long read but I believe worth the effort.

Praying for you brother. Don’t let the enemy hi-jack your view of Gods mercy and Grace. It’s always easy to throw stones at things we don’t fully understand. I believe there’s bigger things at play in the universe that we don’t know about that is part of the equation. We don’t have the ability to see things from Gods perspective. That’s why it’s so important to have faith in his goodness and not fall into the trap Adam and Eve did believing the lie that we can judge right and wrong better than God because we can’t. We are drawing conclusions without all the info., without the viewpoint God has. If his desire was to destroy mankind he could have done it many times over, and for good reason. But he hasn’t so there has to be more to this there we understand. Jesus corrected a ton of mankind’s rebellion and was an amazing act of love from the father toward us that choose to believe. The problem only arises when we get lost in prideful entitlement demanding that we be told the reasons and purposes for the human experience. It’s not for us to know the mystery’s of all this but to only believe that God loves us and is working the big picture toward our good, even when we can see or understand that process. In many ways we’re still standing at the tree of the knowledge of good and evil arguing with the serpent. Things would have been different had we eating from a tree of the knowledge of everything God knows. But instead we choose to believe the serpents lies and are now blinded by the knowledge of good and evil and find ourselves shaking or fists in the air at God in anger still claiming to have a better grasp on good and evil than God does. It’s been the focus of mankind since Adam and Eve took those first bites. And so the serpent slithers off in victory knowing how lost and confused we’ll be for centuries arguing and questioning Gods every move. It’s a great example of how we desired knowledge we could never handle or would be the foundation of great self inflected suffering and stress. We all feel like victims because of this. But it’s what we chose, and the second we let go of the self entitled mindset of demand answers that we’re never going to get, and just walk in faith that your loved and redeemed through Jesus Christ the easier your life becomes. We carry so much of the chaotic thinking that only leads to depression when all we have to do is let go of the wheel and trust in Gods goodness. We all suffer many things in the face of his goodness but it doesn’t change his character of a loving father who’s trying to pull purpose out of our rebellion. If he truly didn’t care all he’d have to do is step back and we would kill each other within one generation. It’s Gods love and Grace that keeps all that from happening. Any other viewpoint is based on lies from the enemy to rob you of purpose and joy. I hope this helps brother. I love you!
