Ingratitude is not a personality quirk. Paul classifies it as a mark of perilous times — listed right alongside unholiness, without natural affection, and lovers of pleasure. That is serious company for what we have reduced to a bad attitude.

Here is the truth: ingratitude is the soil in which every other sin grows comfortably. When you stop thanking God, you start resenting everything. When you start resenting everything, you stop trusting anyone. And when you stop trusting God, you become the kind of person Paul warned us about in these seven verses.

Day Three is a gut check. Not a guilt trip. A guard.

The culture told you to love yourself first. Paul called it the opening sign of dangerous times.

Nineteen vices. Paul lists them with the precision of a physician naming symptoms of a terminal disease. And the first one, lovers of their own selves, is not an accident. Self-worship is the root from which every other vine grows. The covetousness, the boasting, the ungratefulness, the breakdown in families, trace it all back, and you land in the same place: a person who made themselves god.

Day Two of our devotional series holds a mirror up, not to condemn you, but to clarify. Because you cannot fix what you refuse to see. And what you see in this mirror is not just culture. It is the condition of the human heart without Christ.

Look. Then look to Him.

A farmer doesn't need a weather app. He reads the sky, watches the animals, smells the air — and he knows. He has been wrong before. But the farmers who ignore the signs are the ones who lose everything when the storm rolls in.

Paul opens 2 Timothy 3 with three words that function like a spiritual alarm: "This know also." Not — this might happen. Not — watch out, just in case. This know. A command. A certainty. An urgent heads-up to every believer walking through the last days.

The question is not whether perilous times are here. The question is whether you are paying attention.

You think the danger is out there. Paul says look again, it is sitting in the pew wearing a cross.

2 Timothy 3:1-7 is not a news headline. It is a mirror. And most of us are not going to like what we see, because Paul's description of perilous times does not read like a profile of your worst enemy. It reads like a profile of your neighbor, your family member, and if you are honest enough, yourself. Lovers of self. Unthankful. Having a form of godliness but denying the power. Ever learning. Never arriving.

This Sunday we are not preaching about the world falling apart outside the church walls. We are preaching about the world that has crept inside them, and what it costs you when you refuse to recognize it.

The warning is real. The mirror is honest. And the invitation is still open.
Come ready to be challenged. Come ready to be changed.
