Tomorrow, September 8, the Church joyfully celebrates the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary—the birthday of the woman whom God chose to become the Mother of Jesus😍.

❤️But a question comes to the heart:

“What can I give Mother Mary on her birthday❓”

You could offer flowers. 🌹
You could light a candle. 🕯️
You could pray the Rosary. 📿
You could attend Holy Mass. ✝️

😘But perhaps the most beautiful gift is something much deeper.

🌹🌹Give her your heart—and let her lead it closer to Jesus🌹🌹.

🫡Imagine a child on his mother's birthday. He doesn't need an expensive gift. What touches his mother most is when he comes close, smiles, hugs her, and says:

“🤱Happy birthday, Mother. I love you❤️😍😘.”

Mary desires something similar from her spiritual children—not merely beautiful words, but a life that reflects her Son🫡.

🥹So tomorrow, wake up and make the Sign of the Cross.

🌹Thank God for creating Mary.
🌹Thank Jesus for giving her to us as our spiritual mother.
🌹Pray the Rosary with love.
🌹Go to Holy Mass if you can.
🌹Ask Mary to help you say “yes” to God as she did.

🤱And then do something Mary would surely love:

🌹Forgive someone.
🌹Help someone who is suffering.
🌹Feed someone who is hungry.
🌹Visit someone who is lonely.
🌹Turn away from a sin that keeps pulling you away from Jesus.

🤱Because Mary's greatest desire is not that we stop at her.

She always points beyond herself to her Son.

🫡At Cana, Mary said:

«“Do whatever he tells you🛐.” — John 2:5»

🤱That may be the greatest birthday gift we can offer her:

A heart that listens to Jesus. ❤️✝️❤️.

👉So on September 8, don't simply say,

“🎂Happy Birthday, Mother Mary🎁.”

👉Let your life say:

“Mother, I give myself to Jesus. Help me become the child you want me to be🫡🥹😘.”

🌹 Happy Birthday, Blessed Mother!
May your children everywhere draw closer to Jesus through your loving example and prayers🌹.

As Knights, we recognize that work is not only a means of livelihood, but also a way to share in God’s creative plan. Let us pray for all workers, especially those who struggle with unemployment, unsafe conditions, or unjust wages.

May St. Joseph the Worker inspire us to approach our work with faith, integrity, and dedication. 🙏

St. Teresa of Calcutta, known worldwide as Mother Teresa, is one of the most recognizable saints of modern times. Her life of radical charity and service to the poorest of the poor continues to inspire people of all faiths and backgrounds.

Named Agnes at birth in 1910, she grew up in Skopje in North Macedonia. She felt called to religious life and joined the Sisters of Loreto, later traveling to India, where she taught at a school in Calcutta for two decades. She became known as a dedicated teacher and later served as the school’s principal.

In 1946, as she traveled by train, she experienced what she later described as a “call within a call.” She felt Jesus inviting her to leave the convent school and serve Him among the poor and destitute in the streets of Calcutta. After a period of discernment and approval from Church authorities, she left the Sisters of Loreto and began her new mission.

Four years later, she founded the Order of Missionaries of Charity, a religious congregation devoted to serving “the hungry, the naked, the homeless, the crippled, the blind, the lepers.” The sisters lived among the poor, offering care and support with dignity, love, and spiritual comfort.

One of her most significant works was establishing a home for the dying destitute called Nirmal Hriday (Pure Heart), where those who had been abandoned on the streets were given care, companionship, and the opportunity to die with dignity. Mother Teresa often described this work as “doing something beautiful for God.”

Although she experienced prolonged periods of spiritual dryness, she remained faithful to her mission and exemplified compassion and joy in serving the most vulnerable. As her global recognition grew, she received numerous honors. She was a recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979. Yet she was humble, pointing attention away from herself and toward Christ present in the suffering.

St. Teresa of Calcutta died on September 5, 1997, and was canonized in 2016. Beginning with twelve recruits, her Missionaries of Charity grew to five thousand nuns and 450 priests serving in 138 countries worldwide.

Look at Brother Knight Loye Lucas go building more tables for the St. Romuald Church Picnic bingo booth.

Come out Saturday, September 12th beginning at 4:00pm CT for a good meal in the gym and treats on the church grounds, buy some raffle tickets if you haven’t already, enjoy the booths and games, come see the Knights and play some bingo, and be ready to bid on some very nice items in the live auction. We’ll see you then!
