Day 1: The Foundation of Forgiveness
Reading: Matthew 18:21-35

Devotional: Peter thought seven times was generous, but Jesus responded with "seventy-seven times"—not as a mathematical limit, but as a call to limitless forgiveness. The parable that follows reveals a stunning truth: we have been forgiven an unpayable debt by God. The servant owed ten thousand talents—more than a lifetime of wages—yet demanded repayment of a few coins from his fellow servant. How often do we mirror this servant's behavior? We receive immeasurable grace from God yet withhold forgiveness from others over minor offenses. Today, consider: What debt are you holding against someone that pales in comparison to what God has forgiven you? Forgiveness isn't primarily about the other person—it's about reflecting the character of the God who forgave you first.

Reading: Acts 2:42-47

Devotional: John Wesley described the means of grace as "outward signs, actions appointed by God, these ordinary channels through which God conveys His prevenient, justifying, and sanctifying grace." Worship is not a religious product we consume; it's an extraordinary place where we meet an extraordinary God who forms a people. The early church devoted themselves to teaching, fellowship, breaking bread, and prayer—not as entertainment, but as food for their souls. Wesley spoke of "constant communion" because the Lord's Supper is nourishment, not spectacle. Worship is a table for hungry sinners being made holy by grace. When you come to worship, you're not coming to be entertained or to evaluate the performance. You're coming to be fed, transformed, and built up into Christ's likeness.

Reflection: Do you approach worship as a consumer or as someone hungry to be fed by God?

Reading: Colossians 1:9-14

Devotional: "He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves." Your salvation story is not about you discovering God—it's about God pursuing you, calling your name, and pulling you from the grave of sin into glorious light. You were an orphan; now you're a citizen of heaven. You were broken; His love is now the air you breathe. This transformation is not a private spiritual achievement to be displayed; it's a testimony of grace to be shared. When Christ came to this world, He came not for Himself but for us. Therefore, we gather not for ourselves but for God. Our worship is a response to His initiative, His grace, His relentless love that would not let us go.

Reflection: How does remembering your rescue from darkness shape your gratitude in worship?
