Sunday’s message took us back to David’s anointing in 1 Samuel 16:1-13, but from a fresh angle: through the eyes of our Heavenly Father.
Before David was a king, a giant-slayer, or a worshiper, he was just Jesse’s overlooked son, left in the fields while his brothers stood before the prophet Samuel. Yet God had already chosen him.
Here’s the hope we leaned into:
When people overlook you, God already has His hand on you.
God doesn’t see us the way others do. We tend to focus on what’s visible. God looks at the heart. He sees beyond where we are right now and calls us into the future He has planned. Even when earthly fathers fall short or are absent, His love remains steady and His purpose for our lives does not change.
