H.E.L.P. Summer Food Drive
During the summer months, children often miss out on nutritious meals when school cafeterias are closed.Local food pantries often face higher demand while
donations slow down. Pasta with a Purpose is our congregation’s joyful response—an easy, meaningful way to support our neighbors in need.
Please bring pasta-related food items to church anytime this summer. We
will weigh our collection before delivering it to HELP and share our total
contribution (in pounds) so we can see how our gifts, along with those of other ELCA churches across Virginia, add up to something powerful. The Virginia Synod will celebrate the three congregations with the highest donation rate (pounds donated per average worship attender) with a $250
grant to a food pantry of the congregation’s choice!
Suggested Shopping List:
• Dry pasta (spaghetti, penne, rotini)
• Cans of pasta sauce with and without meat
• Boxes of macaroni & cheese
• Canned pasta meals (ravioli or spaghetti)
• Gluten-free pasta
