FAMILY WORSHIP tomorrow morning @ 10:00 at Zion Hampton

“One of the most obvious blessings of family worship is that your family will draw closer together. A reality of our modern world is that families are fragmented and pulled in different directions by the seemingly endless number of activities our kids (and parents) can choose to be involved in.

Most of these things are not inherently bad. In fact, they have some value in instilling discipline, teamwork, fair-play, physical health, and musical talent into the life of your child. Having said that, the tyranny of over-busyness must be recognized and guarded against in order to experience the blessing of family worship. Christian parents who make a commitment to regular worship in the home and at church will find time to have this important worship together as a family.” By Darren Williamson

Every Week a Reminder

If our children begin to recognize their identity as worshipers and the tendency of their hearts to chase after the creation instead of the Creator, then the Sunday gathering starts to make more sense. No longer is it a weird religious activity with singing and reading, standing and sitting. No longer is it merely a duty, an inconvenience, or even a fun social event to run around with friends. Instead, corporate worship gets attached to the core of who they are as human beings and how they operate. On Sunday, we gather together to know the freedom of worshiping God alone. By Paul Tripp

As your children begin a new school year 🙏🏻

"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope."

Lord, I pray that you would fill my children with your joy as they begin a new year of learning! Help them to find joy in their studies and interaction with their teachers and peers at school. May they be filled with wonder as they learn more about this world you have created. Throughout this year, help them to know you better through their studies. Amen.

WORSHIP WITH YOUR FAMILY SUNDAY MORNINGS AT ZION AT 10:00

“It was hard work to think through how I could train my children to worship. I didn’t want them to just be quiet and behave on Sunday morning — I wanted them to belong. I didn’t want them to entertain themselves, but to engage with God in the wonder of what worship really is. Eventually, I discovered practical ways to help my boys fully participate in every part of our service, from the singing of praise songs to the listening of God’s Word. Try the following tips to see what works for your family.

SINGING 🎵 🎵
Most kids love “the singing part” of the service because they can make a joyful noise as well as anyone. If there is a short refrain, help younger children sing that part with gusto! Toddlers can sing the longer verses with “la-la-la.” If it’s OK with your pastor, let your kids stand on the pew or chairs so they can feel more included and see what’s going on. Just keep an arm around them so they won’t fall.” By Robbie Castleman
