Americans are a generous people! Check out these statistics about the $617 billion that Americans gave to charity last year:

* Total giving in the U.S. for 2025 was $617.2 billion, representing a 5.7 percent increase from 2024 or 3 percent when adjusted for inflation.
* The sectors that saw the most growth are: education, human services, health, arts, culture and humanities.
* Religion remains the biggest area of donations received, but at a declining margin; 30 years ago, churches and religious groups received half of all donations, while today they receive 23% of donations.

Wednesday night activities resume this Wednesday, September 2! We'd love for you to join us for dinner, Bible study, choir rehearsal, or children's & youth activities.

During adult Bible study, we'll be reading through Old Testament books that teach lessons from the rise and fall of ancient Israel. We won't be streaming adult Bible study online, so join us in the fellowship hall!

UPDATE ON CAPITAL CAMPAIGN SURPLUS:

We are still a month or two away from beginning renovations on the building, but the organ restoration project is proceeding. Most of the organ pipes have been removed (pictured is the mostly empty organ chamber) and taken to the organ workshop.

The pipe repair and cleaning in the shop is going extremely well. New tuning sleeves were measured and ordered as the pipes were removed from the organ; fitting more than 1,400 tuning sleeves back onto the pipes will take several weeks. After the pipes are reinstalled at the end of September, the organ restorer will spend several more weeks at the church revoicing the pipes to improve the sound.

Other work to be done includes replacing the felt-lined ducts with PVC pipe; an organ depends on good airflow for its power, so creating a smoother passage of air will be good for the instrument. There will also be work to adjust the action of the keys, repair the couplers, and dehumidify the organ chamber.
