Serving, Learning & Having Fun!

This summer, the Harmony and Leesburg UMC Youth Group—5 leaders and 16 youth—came together for the SPARK! mission trip to Rocky Mount, NC.

Throughout the week, our youth put their faith into action by serving at Mrs. Dorsey’s Clothing Closet, the Salem Food Pantry, the Roanoke Rescue Mission, Rocky Mount Stepping Stone Mission, and the Rocky Mount Animal Shelter. They also enjoyed some fun outings and plenty of time building friendships along the way.

It was a wonderful week filled with service, faith, fun, and fellowship—and an opportunity to see God’s work in action through the people and communities we served. We are so proud of the way our youth stepped up, worked together, and shared their time and talents with others.

A huge thank you to all the youth, leaders, families, and organizations who helped make this trip possible!

Our first Mommy and Me Music class was a success! Over 20 little ones and their moms/caregivers came out for music, movement and playground time! Come join us for our second class on September 4 at 10!

The youth from Harmony United Methodist Church recently returned from their Spark! Volunteers-in-Mission trip to southwest Virginia. They had the opportunity to grow in their faith and bond as a community as they spent their days serving others in the Roanoke Valley.

Mission trips are about more than the work that gets done. While they make a difference in the communities being served, they also have a profound impact on the participants. Through serving others, participants gain new perspectives, deepen their faith, and experience firsthand the joy of being God's hands and feet in the world.
