Scholarship Opportunity

Harmony United Methodist Church is accepting applications for the 2026–2027 Barbara and Donald Jennings Merit-Based Scholarship.

One $1,900 scholarship will be awarded to a qualified HUMC student pursuing seminary, ministry, education, health professions, certain trades, or other public/community service careers.

Applicant must be:
Graduating high school senior or current undergraduate/graduate student
Attending college or trade school full-time during the 2026–2027 school year
Pursuing seminary, Christian education, ministry of music, deacon, teaching, health professions, or other public/community service careers
A HUMC member for at least one year
Maintaining a minimum 3.0 GPA

In addition, applicants should show leadership, involvement in the church, participation in extracurricular activities, and community or work experience.

This year, churches across the Virginia Conference of the United Methodist Church are collecting much-needed disaster relief and hygiene supplies to support vulnerable communities through the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR). In the U.S. alone, UMCOR distributed over $2.8 million in relief supplies last year.

Harmony’s Missions Team is preparing to assemble:
• 15 Cleaning Kits (Flood Buckets)
• 25 Hygiene Kits
• 20 Menstrual Hygiene Kits

Join us Sunday, May 17, immediately following worship, to help assemble the Cleaning Kits. Detailed instructions will be provided—just bring your helping hands and hearts—we’d love to welcome you!
