As we close out this session, we are going to share thoughts about Joshua and his obedience to God. This lesson says “Don’t Forget to Remember.” Joshua was a godly person who followed God. He was likely by Moses’s side when the Israelites left Egypt. He had no doubt watched as the Red Sea parted and then just as quickly closed up on the Egyptians. He served as 1 of 2 spies that was faithful . Joshua marched around Jericho and the walls come tumbling down. Joshua was obedient. We live in a world of disobedience and the numbers in front of us shouts out disobedience in all categories. Just look around in any direction and you can see faults, failures, and disobedience. We wish for a better world but there’s hurdle after hurdle standing tall. God is faithful. Allow Jesus to influence your relationship with Him and become a full time all time follower.

There are 195 recognized countries in the world. Out of those 195 countries, there are around 8.3 billion people living in them. Out of that number only 2.4 to 2.6 billion identify to be Christian. That’s roughly 30% of the population world wide. This is session 6 and our lesson title is “A MISSION WITHOUT BOUNDARIES “. Our point to remember is SHARING THE MESSAGE OF CHRIST IS A PRIVILEGE THAT COULD TAKE YOU ANYWHERE. Since redemption comes through the gospel, the proclamation of the good news marks both the fulfillment of biblical prophecy and the church’s obedience to Jesus’s Great Commission to make disciples of all nations. (Matthew 28:19-20.) Paul and Barnabas were called by God to go out from the church, and even the community where they had settled, to take the gospel to those who had yet to hear it. Every follower of Jesus has a role to play in God’s global mission, to share the gospel with others. We attended a commissioning service at a large church once before. It was promoted by the southern Baptist convention. These people were prayed over and given to God’s call to share the gospel with other countries as missionaries. Though many many in each generation that has lived since the resurrection of Jesus have rejected the gospel, someday, after the gospel has been proclaimed to the ends of the Earth, heaven will be filled with those from every nation, tribe, people, and language who heard and believed. From newscast to social media post to the thought that swirl in our minds, our natural, fallen state means that our attention is readily attracted to controversy, criticism, scandal, and outrage. Philippians 4:8: “ whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” Sharing the message of Christ is a privilege that could take you anywhere. Be a witness. Share God’s love.

Session 5, “A MISSION OUTSIDE YOUR COMFORT ZONE “ Scripture references are Acts 8:26-38. Our point to remember is——The gospel crosses cultures and so should we. I want to share 3 personal stories with you this week being out of your comfort zone. 1st I become part of a lay— renewal program. We went to different churches at their request and shared renewal situations. Ernest Gunner was our renewal leader. He was spasmodic about asking you to speak, share your testimony, and even singing , and always to pray. It was somewhat out of our comfort zone. The second experience was a revival with a speaker Bull Bramlett. He was a bold speaker and went down the aisle and stopped at each pew and ask every individual. (Are you a Christian.) The 3rd experience happened last year, while on vacation in Savannah Georgia. My wife and a friend were lured into a shop at Savannah Georgia for a semi facial makeover. The girl outside ( doing the advertising) asked me if I thought that President Trump was good for Israel. I had a Trump cap on and yes I told her that Israel was God’s chosen people and that God was the one they needed to put their trust in. The gospel being proclaimed among every nation, all tribes, peoples, and languages is not the plan of a missions organization, church, or denomination. It is God‘s plan, aligned with God‘s heart, and revealed in God‘s word. Moving out of our comfort zone and eagerly disregarding the differences than often keep us distant from others is a crucial step of obedience when it comes to sharing the gospel and making disciples. All around us are people, like the Ethiopian,( in Acts 8 ) who don’t know anything about the one true God or are confused about how to have a relationship with him. Be prepared to give your testimony of salvation and faith. Share God’s word and blessings with them. Tell them how to be saved. If you don’t know how, study God’s word and find out. Get out of your comfort zone.
