On Memorial Day, we take time to remember and reflect upon the sacrifices of those who have given their lives in service to our country. In commemoration of today, the Presbyterian Historical Society is sharing this 1969 photograph snapped by the Religious News Service at the National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia, during a Memorial Day commemoration service. The caption reads, “This scene will be repeated in every U.S. community on May 30, Memorial Day, when the nation pauses to remember its dead.”

How can you show God's love and work in our communities?

How can you show God's love and work in our communities?

At the 2026 Georgia Presbyteries' Gathering, the Rev. Jihyun Oh, Stated Clerk of the General Assembly of the PC(USA), drew a distinction between diversity and inclusion. Oh noted that having people present in a room is not the same as incorporating their full personhood. She grounded her call in Galatians 3, which erases the categories that divide and other, urging the church toward "something bigger, a bigger we." She also challenged congregations to move beyond bonding with people like themselves and toward the bridging behaviors that connect across real difference. Read more from Presbyterian News Service at the link in the comments below.

"Complex issues and problems can't be solved by single solutions," Oh said, "but it is the next faithful step that we can take. I think it's most important that we take that next faithful step if we want to practice inclusion, to grow the table wider."
