This past Sunday we wrapped up our DNA teaching series by reflecting on how we are COMMUNAL — a people embracing real relationships.

We are cultivating deep, loyal, and united friendships across the boundaries of race, class, politics, and s*x, in a world that seeks to polarize and divide.

On Sunday we continued our DNA teaching series, exploring what it means to be Charismatic — a people moving in the power of the Spirit.

We were reminded of and challenged by the critique of spiritual giant of the mid-twentieth century, A.W. Tozer, when he said, “If the Holy Spirit was withdrawn from the church today, 95 percent of what we do would go on and no one would know the difference. If the Holy Spirit had been withdrawn from the New Testament church, 95 percent of what they did would stop, and everybody would know the difference.”

Sunday was such a beautiful time as we took time to look upon Jesus and worship at his feet. We also began a new teaching series exploring the seven core convictions that make up our DNA, kicking off with COURAGEOUS.

We had a blast this past Family Sunday, as we worshipped together, played games, and interviewed adults and kids alike about the spiritual practices that help them live life with God. Then, we capped it off with baptisms, lunch, and an epic pool party — what an awesome Sunday!

The wide, well-worn path is not the Way of Jesus. According to Jesus himself, his way is a narrow road only walked by a few, but we are so grateful to be walking out this journey with one another in community!

May the Lord give you the grace to walk the narrow Way of Jesus. When the wide road looks easy, may he give you the courage to choose him day by day. And as you walk the hard path of faith, may his Spirit guide you, comfort you, and strengthen you, and bring you into the wide open spaces of abundant life.

This Sunday we continued our journey through the Sermon on the Mount as Fred Carter unpacked Jesus' invitation to set aside worry, and instead trust in God's good plans and provision for our lives by seeking first his kingdom and his righteousness.
