For those who were not able to attend church today, our scripture text came from 1 Timothy 1:2-7
We find Paul writing to Timothy from jail as he is awaiting to be executed.
Paul reminds Timothy of the SINCERE FAITH his Grandmother and Mother had. Paul reminds him he has that SAME kind of faith in him.
That kind of faith doesn't give us a spirit of fear/timidity, it gives us a FAITH OF POWER!
WE ARE TRUSTING GOD AND WE WILL BE BOLD WITH OUR FAITH!

God gave an encouraging word today from James 3:1-6: Tame Your Tongue and Guard Your Mouth.
A illustration was used, with a 2 tubes of toothpaste, 2 plastic cups. Two of our youth; twins Lauren and Cayden raced to see who could squeeze the toothpaste out of the tube into the cup, the fastest. The winner was not important, but after they squeezed the toothpaste out, I asked them to put the toothpaste back in the tube. They looked puzzled as they thought how to do it. I told them and the rest of the Grace family; the race wasn't important nor did I expect them to put the toothpaste back in the tube. I used the illustration to show how quick and easy hurtful and destructive words can come out of our mouths but once they go out, it is literally Impossible to take them back.
That's why we must Tame Our Tongues and Guard Our Mouths!

Celebrate the kickoff to the 2026-2027 school year with a community-wide Back-To-School Bash & Movie In The Park, hosted by the City of Griffin Police Department, Griffin Fire-Rescue, InSpalding, Spalding County Sheriff's Office, The Griffin-Spalding County School System, Griffin GA, City Church, and Wellstar Spalding Medical Center.

Join us at Beck Field in City Park from 5:30PM to 9PM on Thursday, July 23rd. The first 750 students (elementary through high school) will receive a backpack with school supplies, thanks to local sponsors and community donations. Those attending are encouraged to visit the Community Resource Fair and enjoy a public safety touch-a-truck experience, DJ Tonic, and giveaways. At 7:30PM, City Church will host the free Movie In The Park featuring Zootopia 2. Dinner will be provided by the Spalding County Sheriff's Department. This event is free to attend.

What a WONDERFUL INTERACTIVE Sunday School, we had this morning!
Our lead teacher Mrs. Cheryl Cannon Clark turned the church into a Escape Room!
She divided us into two teams and gave us clues, which included bible verses, puzzles, pictures, written clues and other paraphernalia; that would allow us to become FREE!
Thank God for new teaching tools, because I Guarantee, Everyone learned something and will remember this interactive experience.
