We are so blessed to have Princetta Richmond of Ware Shoals working as an Intern.
She is close to earning an Associate in Applied Science degree with a major in Human Services from Piedmont Technical College (PTC). She proudly states that she will be 62 when she graduates next spring, quite a bit older than her classmates and even many of her professors.

This lady is has blessed the lives of the residents and APFUM in so many ways. Thank you!

Pictured below is her serving in the Hope Pantry at PTC.

Im not at liberty to share a picture of the person this story is about… but I felt the need to share her story which will be toward the end of this post.

Working in ministry there are always challenges! It’s not a bed of roses. It’s hard work, sacrifice and unconditional love over and over again. It’s having faith many times -knowing you are trusting God to provide when you are not sure how you will meet payroll or buy groceries to feed the girls. It’s learning not to take offense and so much more!

But boy is it worth it when you see lives changed!

This last year I have spent most of my time working at the farm. Which is a big commitment. When we bought the farm and I took my mama out to see it- she said Tammie I hope you haven’t bite off more than you can chew. Well, some days when there is so much to do- I think about that statement!! 🤔- But our God is faithful to accomplish what concerns us today. He always brings someone along to help!

Over the last couple of weeks God has given me a beautiful picture of how APFU RESIDENTIAL program and the farm will work together to change lives.

The farm was not bought because of the residential program which some people thought. There was also a rumor that our residential home was closing. None of that was true!

Not every girl that comes through our doors will love the farm but will go when we feel she is ready or needs it.

Sometimes we think we are just here for the girls but many times they are here to change us!

Currently we have a resident I’ll call her Joy. Jami knew she would benefit from the residential program and the farm . But none of us were prepared or expected the transformation that took place so quickly.
This young lady came in with a hoddie over her head- wouldn’t make eye contact and hopeless.

As soon as I was able I took her to the farm and we witnessed a tiny smile that day. Then we set it up for her to go back one day with one of the horse volunteers. They taught her how to bush hog that day. 😳
Yes bush hog. And no I didn’t have a peace about it.
But like my friend said. God most have had a peace because the transformation that took place within her was amazing!!

Every day she continues to heal and grow while coming to the farm. God has blessed us with a liscensed counselor and she has Certification in Equine.

Well guess what- just so happened Joy was scared of horses 😳. So Rika started out doing sessions outside around the pecan trees. Yesterday was the big day -Joy got up the nerve and agreed to do 10min of her session with Baby Blue our beautiful white horse that was donated last year.
Rika and Joy decided after it went so well the first 10 mins they would do the entire session with Baby Blue!

Grant it -this was the horse we thought would not work out as a therapy horse. Kinda like we do with people. We don’t want to give them a chance. Rika said we need this horse. Not everyone we help will need a horse that just does eveythibg you want it to do. Some need a challenge. 🙂

Yesterday you could not have wiped the smile off Joy’s face. I haven’t decided yet if bush hogging or her session with Baby Blue has had the biggest impact. I think it’s Baby Blue! She said she only wanted to do the 10 min horse session but the counselor said no. We are doing all 45 mins with him. She said at first she was like - but I like my time we talk. At the end of the session Joy said I never want to do a session without the horse. She said that horse teaches you more about yourself that you can ever learn sitting down talking. JOY struggles with PTSD….if God continues to work in her life I believe one day she will be an instructor or counselor at the farm. On the way home she said- can I share the verse I’ve learned from my Learning Center Homework? I said sure! Wow isn’t God good.

This year the banquet theme is “Goodness of God”! I can’t think of a better title! Mark your calendar Sept 17th. Please Pray for APFU ministry. Having the farm, the home and Nicaragua our money gets stretched thin AND SO DOES OUR DEDICATED STAFF.
The banquet is solely to raise funds for the residential home. It’s a night where we ask God to bring guest that not only would have a heart for the girls And babies, but that can financially give to help us operate the home. If that’s you please reach out and make sure we put you on the guest list. This is our only fundraiser all year. Your gift will make a big difference!!

I love sharing God Stories- He writes them BEST❤️
-Tammie

PS the blessing part- Joy had never gardened but loves it! She loves cutting grass, and building fences. Anything farm related it brings her JOY!! What a joy it is to have her at APFU RESIDENTIAL HOME AND AT A PLACE FOR USOur Farm - Meet Me At The Barn Ministries.

We are so grateful for Mark Davis../Spikes baseball and the team members that went to Nicaragua to teach baseball!
Their life will never be the same and I know that each person they came in contact with were truly blessed!
We love our friends and team members in Nicaragua.
Our hearts are full seeing all God has accomplished this week! (It’s not just the baseball players and coaches lives they have touched- they have ministered to the single moms, children at the park, neighbors, fisherman at the beach, etc). The businesses in the village nearby were blessed -as this team bought out all their snacks, drinks etc -treating the children at the park🤩🎉

“I the Lord do not change.” Malachi 3:6❤️❣️😍🎄🎄

Most of us freely admit it - we’re not always consistent in word and action, or in mood and emotion. When accused, we’ll laugh and claim the right to change our mind.
God makes no such claim because He’s a God of perfect consistency. He never varies in temperament or attitude. Promises He made to people long ago apply to you today, and what He said in the past was true then and is true now and will be true in the future.
How comforting to know that the compassion God feels for you right now is the compassion He will feel for you tomorrow, too. The arms He holds out to you at this moment are the same arms that will open to you whenever you reach out for His tender embrace. His ear, bent to hear you today, will always be there for you.
Your God is not subject to variation. Despite the changes that ever have or ever will take place in your life, His love for you will never change. That’s the beauty of it.

We would like to thank Judge Donald Hocker author of the two amazing devotional books pictured below. He donates all money he makes from the sell of his books. Recently he had a book signing at The Alcoves and chose to gave APFUMI all his book proceeds ~ we were able to buy the computer software we needed for the learning center. 🤩🎉🤩
