Throughout the Gospels, demons recognized exactly who Jesus was. They knew His authority. And when He commanded them, they obeyed.

Yet sometimes, we—the people who call Him “Lord”—can hear what He says and still hesitate.

He tells us to forgive, but we hold on to the offense.
He tells us to love, but we choose bitterness.
He tells us to trust Him, but we keep trying to control everything.
He tells us to surrender, but we negotiate.
He tells us to follow Him, but only when the path is comfortable.

And this is where Luke 6:46 becomes personal:

“Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?”

Calling Jesus “Lord” is more than something we say with our mouths. If He is truly Lord, then His authority should affect the way we live.

This doesn’t mean we will obey perfectly every day. We are still growing, still being sanctified, and still learning to walk with Him. But a true follower of Christ should have a heart that is willing to submit, repent when they fail, and obey what Jesus says.

Maybe we should ask ourselves:
When Jesus speaks through His Word, am I willing to obey—even when it costs me something?

Because He is not only Savior.
He is Lord. 🤍🙏🏻
