“When Joshua was near the town of Jericho, he looked up and saw a man standing in front of him with sword in hand. Joshua went up to him and demanded, ‘Are you friend or foe?’

‘Neither one,’ he replied. ‘I am the commander of the Lord’s army.’

At this, Joshua fell with his face to the ground in reverence. ‘I am at your command,’ Joshua said. ‘What do you want your servant to do?’”‭‭Joshua‬ ‭5‬:‭13‬-‭14‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The angel went on to tell Joshua about God’s plan to help Israel bring the walls of Jericho down.

We know that God is always on our side, thanks to the New Covenant that Jesus gave us. But even now it’s easy to forge ahead and try to involve God in our plans after the fact. What’s not as easy or as instantly gratifying is waiting on God to share His plan with us, but it’s the best way forward every time.

Make sure you are always on the Lord’s side and let Him reveal your next steps.
