It might be week three of summer break but things haven’t slowed down at St Matthew’s! Phase one of the window project is now finished, with the removal team having completed their job yesterday, and phase two of installing the new frames and windows will be ongoing for the next several weeks. In addition, our hard working summer crew is having fun learning the new floor scrubbing machines, and the children’s coat and foot lockers are getting a refresher with a new “Wolfie” grey color. Last but not least, the parish put a new roof on the rectory and its garage yesterday.

Week 2 is proving just as productive as last week! As quickly as the window removal team is taking out the old and original windows, the installers are following behind and putting in the new frame work and glass! Again, thank you to all our parish community who helped to make these improvements possible.

Where did the week go? Our last full day of YNIA had us working with We All Rise African American Resource Center. Tomorrow we help set up for the Juneteenth celebration to end our week. The week may be done but Jesus’ call for us to be Salt and Light continues. This group enfleshed the spirit of St Matthew this week. May they continue to do so.

Day 3 of Saint Matthew YNIA found us working with Foster the Village this morning, helping them prep for a special community event this Saturday. The afternoon was spent preparing for an activity with seniors at Rennes Nursing Home. The crew excelled at interacting with the residents, building fruit pizzas with them and trading laughs and stories. No pics with our senior friends due to social media policy, but lots of smiles and wonderful interactions were had.
