Christ the King Lutheran Church Jesus loves you! In him we have new lives of hope, joy, love, and purpose.

This is the hope that we build upon, and the hope that we strive to share with you and the Howard/Green Bay community! Christ the King is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Synod (ELS), and enjoys fellowship with the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS). We hold to the Bible as the true word of God and follow only the teachings which God has handed down to us. We know that salvation

comes to us through faith in Christ Jesus alone, and that it is through Christ that we will enjoy eternal life in heaven.

We thank Jesus for doing the hard thing of coming to our world, living the perfect life we have not, suffering and dying on the cross, and rising again. So we might be forgiven children of God with heaven in our future. We thank God that he has shared the hard truth with us about our sins, so we might know the sweet taste of the gospel. Knowing this, we joyfully carry out his work of sharing his truth with those around us, even when it’s hard. Our love for Jesus, and our love for the souls around us, compels us.

Good morning and welcome to Christ the King Lutheran!

Imagine, late one night, you notice the house across the street is on fire. You say to yourself, "Pounding on the door in the middle of the night might scare the family. I'm sure they'll realize what's going on eventually." Ridiculous! This is a matter of life and death! Love compels you to do whatever it takes. God wants the people of his church to be willing to say hard things to people when that is what is necessary to save them from an even worse type of fire. Saying hard things is the loving thing to do when it is a matter of eternal life and death.

Pastor Peter Heyn's sermon, "Love Compels Us to Say Hard Things " is based on Galatians 2:11-16.

Join us tomorrow at 9am as we continue our worship series "The Church God Wants."

This weekend we see that God wants a church that says hard things. That means difficult conversations, which are, by their very definition, difficult. So why would we ever say those hard things? Christian love compels us, and the eternal hope that we know!
