The mission of the Vocations Office is to help all people develop an understanding of the call to be a child of God.

In doing so we promote vocations to lay ministry, religious life, diaconate and priesthood so that people's lives are filled with hope.

Can you go to seminary and NOT become a priest? 🤔 The answer surprises most Catholics.
If you’ve ever wondered “is God calling me?” or how to become a priest, send this to someone discerning.

Only peace is holy. 🙏

Pope Leo XIV could not travel to Assisi, so he sent his message instead — to nearly 400 leaders from 53 countries marking 40 years since St. John Paul II's World Day of Prayer for Peace.

"There is no such thing as a holy war: only peace is holy."

Fighting in the name of religion attacks religion itself, he said. Pray for peace… and keep praying for Pope Leo as he recovers.

New York's pews are filling up… with young people. 🙏

At St. Joseph's Church in Greenwich Village, Sunday evening Mass is standing room only — mostly young adults. Before Mass, 200+ gather for "Pizza to Pews," then walk to church together. Pastors there say it plainly: "This is a God thing."

Adoration, daily confession, and community — and a generation hungry for more than career and consumption is answering.

The Church is alive. And the young are leading the way back. 🙏

Good news worth sharing 🙏

The Vatican confirmed this morning that Pope Leo XIV's trip to Uruguay, Argentina and Peru, November 6 to 17, will go ahead. His doctors say he is fit to travel after his October 13 lung surgery, and his recovery is on track.

It will be his first journey since surgery… and a sign your prayers are working.

Keep praying for Pope Leo as he prepares to go.

Tomorrow is the feast of St. José Gregorio Hernández, the "doctor of the poor." 🙏

Canonized by Pope Leo XIV on October 19, 2025, Venezuela's first saint tried for the priesthood twice — and health closed that door both times. So he lived his call another way: as a Secular Franciscan doctor who treated the poor for free and often bought their medicine himself.

Your vocation may not look like you pictured it — and still be exactly where God wants you.

St. José Gregorio, pray for us… and for everyone still discerning.

Back at the window. 🙏

Twelve days after lung surgery, Pope Leo XIV stood at his window over St. Peter's Square today, unaided, smiling and waving, his voice firm and clear.

His heartfelt appeal: for the hostilities in Yemen to stop, "so that the people in Yemen and across the entire region can live in peace." He also prayed for those killed and wounded in Friday's attack on Orthodox faithful in Jordan, and asked us to accompany Tuesday's Assisi peace gathering with prayer.

Keep praying for peace — and for him.

Today our young adults gathered in the back garden at Serra House. 🙏

Adoration under the open sky, and a wonderful talk on discernment from Juan Samaniego …honest, clear, and straight to the heart of the question every young person is asking: Lord, what do You want for my life?

A visit from Fr. Rafael, all the way to Texas. 🙏

Seminarians need priests who show up. Priests who remember what formation felt like, and who still believe in the men God is calling.

Thank you, Fr. Rafael, for making the trip….and for pouring into the next generation of priests. Our guys won’t forget it.

Please keep our seminarians in Texas in your prayers. 🙏
