One thing that has helped me stay consistent in prayer is creating a simple daily rhythm by using this prayer journal.

Not perfect.
Not long.
Just intentional.

Writing prayers down has been such a meaningful way to bring my heart before the Lord and look back later to see His faithfulness.

If you’ve been wanting a deeper prayer life, try starting with just a few minutes a day. A small, steady rhythm can grow into something really powerful over time.

Faithfulness in the little moments matters more than perfection. 🤍

If you’re looking to grow in your relationship with God this is an excellent read that will give you plenty to reflect on, challenge you, and transform you. 📚 🌅🌱✝️

Even for mature believers there is quite a bit to learn and unpack from this book.

DRAWING NEAR: A Life of Intimacy with God by John Bevere. I haven’t met a John Bevere book I didn’t love!

Here are some gems from the book that I hope encourage you to go deeper with God:

“There is a call - no, a cry - coming from the heart of God and with each passing day its intensity increases: “Why are you satisfied without My presence; why do you remain distant when you could have intimacy with Me?”

Within the book of James we find the greatest invitation ever issued, “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you” (4:8). Stop a moment and ponder this: the Creator of the universe, the earth, and all its inhabitants, requests your presence. Not only your presence, but He desires to be intimately close, for we are told “he is a God who is passionate about his relationship with you” (Ex. 34:14 NLT).

It seems to be God’s pattern to make a step toward us, and if we respond, He takes another and draws close. If we don’t respond He does not push His way in…

We are the ones who separate ourselves from intimacy with God, and the root is a lack of holy fear.

Drawing near to God always begins in a heart that fears and loves God more than anyone or anything else. It is not just outward actions, but the heart’s motive.

To fear God is to esteem, honor, and hold Him in highest regard; as well as to venerate, stand in awe, and reverence Him...

God does not want to be silent with us; rather He desires earnestly to communicate with us… “My heart has heard You say, “Come and talk with Me.” And my heart responds, “Lord, I am coming.”” (Ps. 27:8 NLT)

We determine the level of our intimacy, not Him… He is waiting, calling us to come. It is up to us to respond… Intimacy can only be developed by communication…”

So if you’re ready to go deeper, this is a great book to help guide you!

What is our value to God? It is there we find our true value. God is the One who sets the standard for worth in this universe, not men.

Jesus tells us a man who exchanges his life for all this wealth makes a bad deal!
If our true worth, the value God places on us, is more than all the wealth in and of this whole world, what is our value to Him? We're told. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son” (John 3:16).

There is no one or nothing more valuable to Father God in this universe than His Son, Jesus. Yet with this purchase God declared our value as compared to His greatest treasure.

Then the world will know that You sent Me and will understand that You love them as much as You love Me" (John 17:22-24). Jesus plainly declares the Father loves us as much as He loves Jesus! Did you hear that? Do you see your true worth? Do you see why He pursues you?

Some may argue, "Yes, God did that for all mankind cumulatively, but who am I among so many?" The answer to this is if you had been the only one, He still would have pursued and ransomed you at this great price.

We are the ones who separate ourselves from intimacy with God, and the root is a lack of holy fear.

Day 100 in my Bible reading plan!!

I got a head start in December as I was excited to begin! I have been sticking with it daily, despite traveling, illness, late nights doing chores and taking care of my family.

I want to stay strong in my commitment so I see it through until the end of the year! I am feeling blessed already with the knowledge of the Bible I’ve grown in these last couple of months!

If anyone is looking for a good Bible and guide to help you read it - I highly recommend!! The reading plan takes you through the entire Bible in chronological order in a year!

Where is honor in our everyday lives?

Another great book by John Bevere! Honor’s Reward: Unlocking the Power of This Forgotten Virtue. 📖

Highly recommend! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Here are some of my favorite takeaways! So much more to be learned in this book though!!

Honor carries with it great rewards; rewards God desires you to have. Honor has the power to greatly enhance your life.

“Look to yourselves, that we do not lose those things we worked for, but that we may receive a full reward.” - 2 John 1:8

The simplest way to not lose what we’ve labored for is to develop patterns of consistently honoring God’s counsel.

God is a rewarder and loves to reward His children!

God rewards those He is pleased with, which are those who heed His counsel.

Our Father desires to reward us both then and now as we heed His counsel. We are told, “The righteous will be rewarded in the earth” (Proverbs 11:31). Not just in heaven, but in this life.

The meaning of honor: to value, to esteem, to respect, to treat favorably, to have high regard for. Communicating in respect and love. To esteem others better than yourself is to honor them.

To dishonor: to treat as common, ordinary, or menial. To not value or respect. Or to treat shamefully or humiliate.

Honor or dishonor can be displayed in deed, word, or thought, but all true honor originated from the heart. Thoughts are important!

As you scan the gospels, you find others who received partial, full, or no reward. Each incident uniquely reflects their stewardship of honor.

“Those who honor Me I will honor, and those who despise Me shall be lightly esteemed.” - 1 Samuel 2:30

Honor is an essential key to receiving from Heaven. I like to refer to the above verse as “the honor principle.” Those who honor God will be honored.

If we honor a leader, we will receive the reward God has to give through the leader; again the same with those who are our peers; and finally the same with those under our authority.

God is watching over His word to perform it.

Everyone we come in contact with will flourish if we honor him or her. Every kind word spoken from our hearts will minister life to the hearers.

Pray and ask God to put genuine honor in your heart for those He died for, He’ll do it, because it’s His desire.

All true honor is a byproduct of holy fear.

Embracing wisdom will bring you honor. The starting place of wisdom is the fear of the Lord. When we fear the Lord, we’ll believe and obey the Word of God in all areas of our lives.

I encourage you to pray daily for God’s love, holy fear, and honor to abound in your heart.

I feel so honored to be part of such an incredible church at Fellowship Church. We are so blessed to have this church right here in Grand Junction! 🤍

This past Sunday, Pastor Tim taught an excellent message on the amazing things God can do by unleashing the discipline of prayer in our lives. 🙏

And to aid in this endeavor he shared from the platform, to hundreds of our community members, the In His Ways Co. Prayer Journal! 📓

God is SO good! 🙌 I could have never imagined this prayer journal going from a little passion project I thought would help me on my walk with God be used to help so many people! 💥

Pastor Tim was one of the first to order the prayer journal just a couple weeks ago when it first launched! And to hear him say in his message “it has resparked my prayer life. It has changed the consistency of my prayer life.” 🥹 God is so cool!

To God be all the glory! This is his idea, his project, his journal, I’m just the human hands that said I’m willing. God thank you for choosing to work through me to create this. It’s all you and for you. ☝️

Be sure to listen to Pastor Tim’s message on prayer, linked here! At 54 minutes in Pastor Tim introduces the prayer journal! 👏

🌿 El Shaddai (God the Almighty)

Scripture Story: Discover Genesis 17:1-8, where God reveals Himself as El Shaddai in a covenant with Abraham, promising numerous descendants and the land of Canaan.

Significance: Turning to El Shaddai in times of need acknowledges God's limitless power and provision, encouraging trust in His ever-present ability to overcome challenges.

Pray with me: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you that you are El Shaddai, God Almighty. Thank You for being our source of strength and power, and for the limitless provision you provide. In times of need, I trust in You and Your ability to help me overcome. Thank You for being my strength and sustainer. Amen.

Adam and Eve failed to heed God's warning recorded in Genesis 2:16-17.

They did not understand the reasons for his command, so they chose to act in another way that looked better to them.

All of God's commands are for our own good, but we may not always understand the reasons behind them.

People who trust God will obey him because he asks them to, whether or not they understand his reasons.

- Life Application Study Bible NLT Commentary

Genesis 3:11-13 | “Who told you that you were naked?” the Lord God asked. “Have you eaten from the tree whose fruit I commanded you not to eat?” The man replied, “It was the woman you gave me who gave me the fruit, and I ate it.” Then the Lord God asked the woman, “What have you done?”

These verses (like in Genesis 3:8) show God's desire to have fellowship with us.

They also show why we are afraid to have fellowship with him.

Adam and Eve hid from God when they heard him approaching.

God wanted to be with them, but because of their sin, they were afraid to show themselves.

Sin had broken their close relationship with God, just as it has broken ours.

But Jesus Christ, God's Son, opens the way for us to renew our fellowship with him.

God longs to be with us. He actively offers us his unconditional love.

Our natural response is fear because we feel we can't live up to his standards.

But understanding that he loves us, regardless of our faults, can help remove that dread.

- Life Application Study Bible NLT Commentary

Genesis 3:8 | "When the cool evening breezes were blowing, the man and his wife heard the Lord God walking about in the garden. So they hid from the Lord God among the trees."
