We received a more detailed update from our church network in Nepal Friday morning, and the situation is much worse than we initially knew.
Most of these churches were located near the initial impact zone of the flooding along Nepal's northern border with Tibet.
Across our network, at least 117 believers are now confirmed dead or missing: 30 confirmed dead and 87 missing. At one church alone, approximately 50 believers are missing. That number does not include Timure Church, where we are being told that the pastor may be the only survivor, so the actual loss is higher.
Ten churches within our network have been directly affected, with churches damaged or destroyed and pastors and members among the missing.
These are churches, pastors, and families within the network we serve alongside in Nepal.
Please continue to pray for our brothers and sisters there, especially the families waiting for news and those who have lost loved ones. We are continuing to receive updates from our leaders on the ground as communication becomes possible. Thank you for praying with us.
