We are looking forward to a special Ordination Service on September 13th at 6:00 PM in the Worship Center. Join us as we celebrate and pray over these men who have answered God’s call: Matt Renfro, being ordained as Deacon Wade Roye, being ordained as Elder.

This will be a meaningful evening in the life of our church, and we would love for you to be there as we worship together and support these men and their families.

On August 21-23, Thomas Loftis, Luis Simental Jr. and Pastor Eliot were able to head down to Yucatan, Mexico. This was a wonderful time where Pastor Eliot was able to meet with lots of leadership, including Tomas and David Nieto, who are leading the seminary that Oak Street has been supporting for so long. During that time, we were also able to meet two small churches that have been started because of the work that came out of that seminary. The first church was in Kancab. This church is being led by Santos Ek and Carminia Milan and their family. They are working on building a covered area where they will be able to meet and then will be working on building their actual church. The second church we visited was in Kantemo. This church has just finished their building and is working on building a bathroom. This church is currently lead by a Dorcas.

The last part of the trip we were able to attend the commissioning service for the 10th generation of seminary students. At this service I had the opportunity to share my testimony about going to seminary and to be able to encourage the students to stick with it and that God has a plan and a purpose for their lives and the work that they are putting in to going to seminary. We then had the opportunity to pray over each student that was there, 52 students.

So, let’s praise God for the work that he is doing in Yucatan. Let us pray that God would provide resources for these churches to build the facilities that they need. And lastly let’s pray that God would bless each of these students as they begin this educational journey.
