~Growing In Godliness~

Our purpose as a church is to know God in an intimate and vital personal relationship. When the disciples approached Jesus and requested an answer to their question “What is the greatest commandment?” Jesus simply responded by saying that the greatest commandment was to “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and mind” and the second commandment was similar: “Love

your neighbor as yourself” The interesting lesson we learn about this response is this: Jesus continued by saying that the law and the prophets would stand on these 2 commandments! In other words, above all else, we are to love HIM and OTHERS.

~Growing In Grace~

Grace is the ability and the desire that God gives us to do his will. Every good thing we do comes from his grace and ability upon us. It is our responsibility to embrace God’s grace and allow it to form our character, teach us to live in his spirit and follow the steps to spiritual growth. Some old ways to “grow” are to grow by doing good, trying to grow by keeping rules or try to grow by feeling bad. However, we must understand that God has a “long term” plan for our life and it will take some time for us to mature in our faith. We are to allow God’s process take its course.

~Growing In Our Gifts~

Every believer has an imaginary sign on their chest: “USE ME OR LOSE ME.” We all have a place in the church: A gift, a talent, a God given ability to administrate or coordinate others. Everyone in the church is important and plays a vital role in the purpose of the church. The idea is to use our God given gifts so that others may receive the benefits of hearing the salvation message. We grow in our service to God and others as we use our abilities and put our faith into action.

~Growing In Sharing the Gospel~

Everyone has a personal story about their experience with God. Our goal is to share this story with others and allow God to change people’s lives. We follow the commandment to “Go” and “Teach” the gospel to the world. We start at our own home and make every effort to live godly lives as we share Christ’s message in our community.

~Growing In our Celebration~

We also exist to worship God in spirit and truth. We do this by expressing ourselves through song, praise and worship. We give him glory and verbalize our feelings as we thank him for his many attributes. We worship him respectfully and give him honor simply because HE is God. Our worship is also an expression of gratefulness and love for him and we also thank him for our salvation.
