Shalom everyone,
I canβt believe that this coming year will already be my third as cantor at NCRT! My family and I are so grateful for the way we have been welcomed into this warm and caring community over the past two years. We are especially thankful for the wonderful Sip and See event celebrating the birth of our son Meyer, and the awesome personalized fox rocker gifted to him by the congregation- I have attached highly adorable photographic evidence.
I have really enjoyed praying and learning together these past two years. I love the way our shabbat congregation embraces experiments with new melodies and ways of praying, and participates enthusiastically in familiar favorites. I am excited to continue hunting for new tunes and ideas that bring new life to our liturgy.
I have also learned so much from studying together in the adult education courses I have led on Jews in American organized crime, Yiddish, and sci-fi and rabbinic text. I am especially looking forward to our upcoming book discussion on The Future is Peace, which I hope you will find as moving and inspiring as I have. I am always on the lookout for new class ideas, so please let me know if there is something you are interested in exploring.
We have an action-packed summer of special shabbats and programs planned, so I hope to see you all at NCRT soon!
