Back to the Basics
I beseechyou therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Romans 12:1-2

Sometimes we get complacent, too comfortable, "too big for our britches." We need to go back to basics, back to the foundation of our faith. When we accepted Christ, we made a commitment to serve Him with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. He fulfilled His promise; now we must fulfill ours. This means more than just accepting Jesus, there's service to be done after salvation. He doesn't want us to sit and wait; He wants us to go and tell. Perhaps the snow and ice or the heat and the humidity are God's way of making us stop and reset, to rest in our busy lives and refocus on what matters most. Being reconciled to God means daily surrender, continual repentance, and constant striving to be more Christ-like. It means being willing to pack up and go wherever He sends us, no questions asked. Today, ask yourself: Am I as close to God as I need to be? Let Him continue His work in you.
