Today is the feast of St. Cloud, a French saint, and the grandson of St. Clothilde.
He had to leave his family at age 8 to avoid being killed over the throne. St. Cloud lived with another saint, St. Remigius, until adulthood. Instead of going back to reclaim his throne, he dedicated his life to the people living around Provence, France as a hermit and healer.
St. Cloud is the patron saint of nail makers, and the diocese of St. Cloud, Minnesota.

Happy feast of St. Magnus of Fussen, a Benedictine monk and missionary in southern Germany.
St. Magnus is known for the stories about his extraordinary works involving animals. He once dispersed a plague of snakes. He is also one of the Holy Helpers invoked during plagues.
He is the patron against hail storms and of the protection of crops. St. Magnus, pray for us!

Today is the feast of Mother Teresa, who is now St. Teresa of Calcutta. She founded the Missionaries of Charity, and helped the "unseen" to become seen.
St. Teresa was 36 years old and had already been a religious for 18 years before Jesus appeared to her and she experienced her "call within a call."
She was inspired by the stories of the missionaries when she was just a little girl in North Macedonia. Pouring over their stories, she knew by age 12 that she wanted to follow in their footsteps. It was their stories that inspired the little girl that became Mother Teresa.

Today is the feast of St. Rosalia, a 12th century Italian hermit.
St. Rosalia is invoked against plague in Palermo, Italy. During the 1624 plague of Palermo, St. Rosalia appeared to several people indicating where her remains could be found in her cave. After her remains were processed through town, the plague ended.
St. Rosalia is still celebrated every year in Palermo with a procession.

Happy feast of St. Gregory the Great!
St. Gregory was the prefect of Rome. After five years he resigned and founded six monasteries, became a Benedictine monk, and later became a priest. He was also the papal representative in Constantinople and an abbot before being elected pope.
In his papacy he is known for his reform of the liturgy and he has been named a doctor of the church. He is the patron saint of musicians, singers, students, and teachers.

Today is the feast of St. Ingrid of Sweden, a 13th century Dominican abbess who founded the Skanninge Abbey.
St. Ingrid was the first Dominican nun in Sweden. Her niece was the first wife of St. Bridget of Sweden's father, and many believe St. Ingrid was an inspiration to her.
