All Saints' Day is a solemn Christian feast dedicated to honoring all the saints of the church, both known and unknown, who have attained heaven. Celebrated on November 1st, the holiday is built on the belief that there is a powerful spiritual bond between those in heaven and the living. It provides a dedicated time to remember countless holy men and women who do not have their own specific feast days on the calendar.

Today is the feast of St. Narcissus, bishop and miracle worker.
According to Eusebius, "One year on Easter-eve the deacons did not have any oil for the lamps in the church, which was necessary at the solemn divine office on that day. Narcissus ordered those who had care of the lamps to bring him some water from the neighboring wells. This being done, he pronounced a devout prayer over the water. Then he bade them pour it into the lamps; which they did. The water was immediately converted into oil, to the great surprise of all the faithful."
St. Narcissus, pray for us.
