🏈 ILLINI FOOTBALL TICKET RAFFLE! 🏈

We’re selling raffle tickets for $5 each or 5 for $20 for FOUR seats and a parking pass to see Illinois take on Southern Illinois University Carbondale on September 19 at 1:00 PM!

The seats are Section 123, Row 16, Seats 25–28, with a great view of the field behind the Illini sideline.

Best of all, every dollar raised stays local and goes directly toward our annual “Tootsie Roll/Intellectual Disabilities Drive, with proceeds split between the SMASE program at Gillespie schools and Illinois Valley Rehabilitation Center in Gillespie.

We couldn’t have asked for a better morning at the Benld Family Sports Complex; beautiful weather, a great group of kids, and plenty of volunteers who came out to help make our first KC Soccer Challenge a success!

A huge thank you to everyone who volunteered their time this morning and to all the parents who brought their kiddos out to participate. Events like this aren’t about us or the recognition, they’re simply another opportunity to serve our community, support our young people, and hopefully have a little fun along the way.

Congratulations to all of our participants and especially our winners! Since there will not be a District Competition this year, our winners will advance directly to the Regional Championship in October! We wish them the best of luck as they represent Council 2076 and our communities!

Thank you again to everyone who helped, participated, or simply came out to support the kids. Project Third Day, The Gillespie Way, we thank you for being there to offer snacks and drinks. It was a pretty darn good way to spend a beautiful Labor Day morning.

We are inviting local boys and girls to show off their soccer skills at our first annual Knights of Columbus Soccer Challenge!

The competition is open to boys and girls ages 9–14 as of September 1st. Come out, have some fun, test your skills, and compete for a chance to advance to the next level of competition!

When? - Labor Day, Monday, September 7th
Where? - Benld Family Sports Complex – site of the former Ben-Gil Elementary School (take 1st or 2nd street south off of Central Avenue and you’ll find it)

Registration begins at 8:30 AM
Competition begins at 9:00 AM

There is no cost to participate, and all eligible boys and girls in the area are welcome! Each participant will take a set number of penalty shots and can score points by hitting different areas of the goal. Winners will go on to compete against other winners at the District competition in October!

Grab your soccer players, bring the family, and join us for a fun Labor Day morning on the field. Our friends at Project Third Day, The Gillespie Way will be selling snacks and drinks as well!

As our nation celebrates America’s 250th Birthday, we give thanks for the blessings of freedom, faith, and the countless men and women who have built and defended this great country.

Our council believes that true patriotism is about more than flying the flag, it is about living out the values that make our nation strong. We honor God by serving our neighbors, defending the dignity of each and every human person, supporting our communities, and extending a helping hand to those who are struggling. Charity remains our first principle because love of country is best demonstrated through love of one another.

As we celebrate our nation’s past, may we also recommit ourselves to building a future rooted in faith, hope, and charity, one act of kindness at a time.
