Please take a chance to read about the needs of our homeless community as reflected in increased numbers at the First Presbyterian Church-Memphis Soup Kitchen.

Yesterday, our soup kitchen and food pantry served a record of nearly 400 people. While the power outages from the storm are no doubt related to some of this increase, our average weekly attendance for this summer has been 200-250, compared to 100-150 one year ago.

Something is happening. Our guest numbers are climbing. We’ve never seen more children and families as our guests on Sunday afternoons. Our Memphis neighbors are struggling and relying on soup kitchens and food pantries to get by.

We need your help. We need more of our Memphis friends to support our service efforts through either their time or their treasure. If you are able to make a financial contribution, please visit https://onrealm.org/FirstPresMemphis/-/form/give/now and make a gift to our Soup Kitchen. If you are willing and able to volunteer with us on Sundays from 1:00 PM-3:00 PM, please email us at [email protected]. Please help us support our neighbors in this moment.
