NEW Sunday School Class Beginning next Sunday, September 13 at 10am, Bob Freymeyer will lead a class discussing "Being Presbyterian in the Bible Belt: A Theological Survival Guide for Youth, Parents, and other Confused Presbyterians," by Ted V. Foote, Jr., and P. Alex Thornburg.

The class will consider both the theological issues of what being Presbyterian means as well as the role of religion in the South more generally. Bob is a Professor Emeritus of Sociology at Presbyterian College. Much of his research focused on the social and demographic conditions and recent changes in the American South.

Confirmation 2026: This fall, youth (6th grade and older) are gathering on Sunday evenings from 4:30-6pm for dinner, study, and games as we learn together what it means to be Presbyterian and people of faith. This eight-week program starts Sunday, September 13th with a conversation with Rev. Rebecca about how Presbyterians study the Bible. Dinner will be provided.

Have you wanted to learn how to pray? Wanted to pray for your concerns, the concerns of others, and for the world? Rev. Rebecca will be leading a weekly time of prayer this fall from 8:00-8:30am on Thursday mornings in the East Room. We learn to pray by practicing prayer. Come as often as you can, there is no registration or prior experience required. We will begin meeting on September 10 and will gather each Thursday until Thanksgiving except October 15.

Save the date and join us for the Farmington Presbyterian and Farmington Presbyterian Day School Fall Festival on September 24, 5pm-7pm. We'll have homemade pizza, facepainting, games and live music with . All donations for dinner (recommended donation of $10/person with a max of $30 per family) will benefit Presbyterian Disaster Assistence and we will also package hygiene kits to send to those in need. We look forward to seeing you!

Substitute Grandparents Needed!

Farmington Presbyterian Day School will host the annual Muffins with Grandparents Day on September 10 and 11. If anyone from the church would like to volunteer to eat muffins with students in their classroom for grandparents who are unable to attend, we would love for you to be part of this event. Those who came last year had a wonderful time being shown art and reading books. If you are able to come one or both days, please let Rev. Rebecca know or contact Gretchen at [email protected].

First Presbyterian Soup Kitchen is serving record high numbers at their Sunday lunch. Their regular attendance was around 100 and has recently climbed to around 250. Last Sunday, they had a record 400 guests! If you are able to make sandwiches (2 pieces of white bread, 1 piece of bologna, 1 slice of American cheese with NO condiments in a sealed sandwich bag), please do so and place them in the church freezer to be delivered to First Presbyterian. This Sunday, September 6, in honor of Labor Day, we will assemble sandwiches at 10am in the kitchen. If you would like to bring additional supplies, we will make all that we can.

This Sunday, join us for our monthly Church Potluck! Since the first Sunday in September is during Labor Day weekend we are gethering one week early.

Bring a dish to share and leave it on the kitchen island before worship along with any warming or serving instructions. Then, stay after worship to enjoy fellowship and breaking bread together! All are welcome with or without a dish, there is always plenty.
