Let us join Pope Leo in praying for his June Prayer Intention: For the values of sport. Let us pray that sport be an instrument of peace, of encounter and lead to dialogue among cultures and nations so that they promote values such as respect, solidarity and personal growth.

On this the Monday following Pentecost we celebrate the Feast of Mary, Mother of the Church. On this feast we honor Mary's, cooperation with God's plan for salvation which led to the birth of both Jesus Christ and the church which He founded.
In John 19:26-27 Jesus entrusted his Apostle John and all those who follow Him to the care of Mary His mother. Let not hesitate to ask for her intercession on behalf of the needs of the church.

Now is a perfect time to honor the incredible service and sacrifice of our nation's Catholic military chaplains!

DID YOU KNOW? Of all religious groups, Catholic priests serving as chaplains have received the Medal of Honor—the highest U.S. military decoration—more times per capita than any other group. These heroic men demonstrated incredible valor, often tending to the wounded and administering final rites under heavy fire. One of the most famous is Father Vincent R. Capodanno, a Maryknoll priest and Navy chaplain who died saving Marines in Vietnam and was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor. He is currently being considered for canonization by the Church!

🙏🏼⁣ ⁣Let's take a moment today to pray for all Catholic chaplains, all service members, and the repose of the souls of all who have fallen in service to our country. "Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them."

From the Pentecost Sequence...

Come, Holy Spirit, come!
And from your celestial home
Shed a ray of light divine!

Come, Father of the poor!
Come, source of all our store!
Come, within our bosoms shine.

You, of comforters the best;
You, the soul’s most welcome guest;
Sweet refreshment here below;

In our labor, rest most sweet;
Grateful coolness in the heat;
Solace in the midst of woe.

O most blessed Light divine,
Shine within these hearts of yours,
And our inmost being fill!

Where you are not, we have naught,
Nothing good in deed or thought,
Nothing free from taint of ill.

Heal our wounds, our strength renew;
On our dryness pour your dew;
Wash the stains of guilt away:

DID YOU KNOW? Every May is recognized as Mental Health Awareness Month, and it provides a perfect tie-in with a Catholic saint! 🧠❤️‍🩹

The month of May includes the feast day of St. Dymphna (May 15th), who is the beloved patron saint of people suffering from nervous, emotional, and mental disorders. She was a 7th-century Irish martyr who fled from her mentally ill father and devoted her life to helping the sick and poor, embodying compassion for those who struggle.

Let's use this month to pray for all those carrying mental burdens and work to end the stigma, showing them the Christ-like compassion of St. Dymphna. 🙏🏼
