Can you name the most important item that goes into a OCc Shoebox? PRAYER! We ask packers to start with prayer before they ever begin to shop for the items that go into their boxes. Prayer is the most important element of every aspect of this ministry. This summer we got to host a a prayer event to focus on that very element of OCC. Cross Creek Community Church hosted our annual “Peanuts and Prayer” event. We focused on prayer reminders that represent how God is using your simple shoebox gifts to reach the various nations around the world. We celebrated in prayer for Gods faithfulness to allow us a small role to play in His mission-the great commission! Thank you to Crosscreek Community Church for your dedication to spread the gospel around the world in so many ways-including OCC! A HUGE thank you to our Prayer Team Coordinator and famous Peanut Man-Tommy Hughes for organizing the evening and leading us and our team faithfully in prayer!

We had the privilege of honoring yet another one of our NE AL Operation Christmas Child Drop Off Locations in Etowah County-Riverbend Baptist Church. They have faithfully collected your shoebox gifts for over 10 years! The church family hosts a packing party each year and has collected thousands of gospel opportunities in addition to serving as a Drop Off Location. We want to ask you to join us in celebrating their faithfulness and Gods goodness as we recognize their Drop Off Team Leader Lynn Bryant.

We are thankful for our Drop Off Locations that recieve your shoebox gifts each season! This summer we celebrated the 5 year anniversary of First Baptist Hokes Bluff as one of our Etowah County Drop Off Locations. We got to present their congregation with a 5 year plaque as a reminder of Gods faithfulness to spread the gospel around the world with the gifts-gospel opportunities you drop off at their location. Join us in celebrating all God has done in their location! Special thanks to Drop Off Team Leaders over the past 5 years Gail Sanders and Michelle Cavender!

Join us in celebrating Sardis Baptist Church as we recognize them serving as one of our 9 Northeast Alabama Area Drop Off Locations for more than 5 years. Drop Off Team Leader Page Wright serves with excellence along with her team collecting thousands of shoebox gifts in Marshall County. We are so thankful for Page and her team at Sardis Baptist helping to advance the gospel around the world! We were also grateful to get to say thank you to Bro Mike Goforth and his wife as this was one of his last sermons at Sardis before he retires. They have been faithful partners to this ministry and we pray for them as they start their next chapter!

We had a great turn out this past Saturday as we celebrated the 2025 season! Thank you to Lindsey Cochran Jefferson and LifePoint Church in Albertville for being our host! We resonated on the passage of scripture from 1 Corinthians 3:6-9 where Paul reminds us that we may be the seed planters but it is God who provides the growth! While we celebrated our “seed planters” across Northeast Alabama who help with the ministry of Operation Christmas Child, we thanked God for the growth we have seen thru HIS power to use of a simple shoebox gift to spread the gospel!
