Sunday to Monday Connection
“When God began to create the heavens and the earth . . .” Genesis 1:1

Your Favorite Day of Creation?
Being a part of worship this past Sunday was a wonderful blessing! Thank you to everyone to helped embrace a creative retelling of the Story of Creation. From hearing all of you moo, play “peak-a-boo”, and bubble like a fish our reflection made for a memorable moment.

Out side of sharing some laughter and plenty of smiles, I’m curious which day of creation would you say is your “favorite”? While everything God made is indeed “good,” I think that we all have some favorite aspects of creation. For me, I would admit I am always fascinated with the fourth day of Creation when God created the sun, moon, and set the stars in their courses. I will admit I am a star gazer. Looking up, I can easily get lost in the vastness of God’s creation. I ponder how far and how long the light of each star has traveled to get from here to there. What a miraculous wonder! Add too that the ever changing light of the moon. It is beautiful! I even took the picture shown above in our back yard not long after we first moved to Fremont. I as look at that, I wonder how can someone not be in awe of all that God has created?

So, I’m curious, which day would you consider to be your favorite and why? In case you forgot the order, I’ve included a quick summary for you below. Drop me an email and feel free to share.

Together we enjoy the wonder of Creation!
Pastor Bailey

On the First Day, God Created:
The Heavens and the Earth.

On the Second Day, God Separated:
The waters below from the waters above.

On the Third Day, God Created:
The dry ground and all vegetation.

On the Fourth Day, God Separated:
The lights in the sky, creating the sun, moon, and stars.

On the Fifth Day, God Created:
The fish and the birds.

On the Sixth Day, God Created:
All living animals that dwell upon the land,
and human kind which was made in the image of God.

On the Seventh Day, God Rested,
and all that God made was “Very Good!”

Today is Pentecost.

O God, on this day you open the hearts of your faithful people by sending into us your Holy Spirit. Direct us by the light of that Spirit, that we may have a right judgment in all things and rejoice at all times in your peace, through Jesus Christ, your Son and our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. —Bread for the Day
