IAMWMW Announces Celebration of Life Arrangements for Dr. Janie Charles Holmes, 7th International President

RICHMOND, VA | September 2026 — The International Association of Ministers’ Wives and Ministers’ Widows, Inc. (IAMWMW) announces the Celebration of Life arrangements for Dr. Janie Charles Holmes, the organization’s 7th International President, who served from 2002 to 2010 and was affectionately known throughout the sisterhood as “MP7.”

Dr. Holmes was deeply connected to the faith community and the IAMWMW sisterhood internationally. She served IAMWMW with grace, wisdom, strength, and a deep commitment to faith, service, and sisterhood. Her leadership helped strengthen the organization and encouraged generations of ministers’ wives and ministers’ widows to serve with excellence, purpose, and devotion.

Her tenure remains an important part of IAMWMW’s history, and her contributions continue to be remembered with gratitude throughout the sisterhood.

IAMWMW extends heartfelt condolences to the Charles & Holmes Family and to all whose lives were touched by Dr. Holmes. May God grant them comfort, peace, and sustaining strength during this time of transition.

As we take time today to rest, gather with family, and enjoy the blessings of this Labor Day, let us also be intentional about recognizing the value of our work.

Every prayer prayed, family nurtured, ministry supported, community served, lesson taught, meal prepared, hand extended, and life encouraged matters.

Sisters, your labor is not limited to a title or a workplace. The work you do in your homes, churches, communities, careers, and throughout this sisterhood leaves an impact that may reach further than you will ever know.

Today, rest with gratitude, reflect with purpose, and prepare to move forward with renewed strength.
