We are excited to usher in our 2026-2027 Children's Choir season at St. George’s!

Our first rehearsal will be on September 13 at 3 pm in the choir room (accessible through our graveyard door). Children’s choir and chimes will rehearse from 3 – 4:30 pm on Sunday afternoons. We are still working on finalizing our rehearsal and performance schedule. Please invite your friends to come make music with us at St. George’s! We will send out more information as we approach our September 13 start date. In the meantime, email Juliann Jones ([email protected]) to sign up.

Formation for Adults resumes this Sunday, August 23. Join us for our Adult Forum at 9 am in Sydnor Hall.

Adult Forum Topic: Life in Christ Series
In conjunction with our preaching series, we will be exploring what it means to live as disciples of Jesus. The series will go from August 13 through October 4 and will be led by our Rector, Joe Hensley. Each session will include opportunities for small and large group conversation about joys and challenges of life in Christ as well as a presentation on the theme of each week and reflection on relevant Scriptures.

As we return to the program year, it is a good time to return to a basic question: “What does it mean to live as a disciple of Jesus?” Each week in our morning services, we will examine some qualities of “life in Christ” based on the appointed scriptures in the Lectionary.

Aug 23: Seeking freedom together.
Aug 30: Listening to God’s call.
Sept 6: Loving God and our Neighbors.
Sept 13: Forgiving abundantly.
Sept 20: Practicing Generosity.
Sept 27: Changing our Minds and Hearts.
Oct 4: Living our Best Life.

The adult forum at 9 am will offer a deeper dive into these themes as well.

We are calling this a “homily series,” as the messages will be a little shorter but just as thoughtful. August 23: Seeking freedom together. August 30: Listening to God’s call. September 6: Loving God and our Neighbors. September 13: Forgiving abundantly. September 20: Practicing Generosity. September 27: Changing our Minds and Hearts. October 4: Living our Best Life. The adult forum at 9 am will offer a deeper dive into these themes as well.

The Table needs DOZEN EGG CARTON DONATIONS please! We only need to keep about 60 in backup. Bring to Sydnor (Sunday, Monday or Tuesday mornings) or at office Wed-Thu. (We need the dozen size only, not larger or plastic cartons)

The short version egg carton story. Last year we had way too many that took up our storage. Then the floods came with a burst pipe and most of them in Sydnor Hall were lost. We’ve been ordering eggs in cartons but we need to keep some in reserve to cut in half for distribution. Thank you!

All are welcome to attend a presentation of the recently completed archaeological study of St. George's Episcopal Church - Fredericksburg. The presentation will include an overview of the archaeological investigation, key discoveries, historical context, artifact findings, and the significance of the work for understanding Fredericksburg’s development from the colonial era to the present day.

Among the findings are the discovery of previously unknown remains of St. George’s second church, built in 1815, and new evidence documenting how the church grounds and graveyard have changed over time. Archaeologists uncovered foundation features, stone column supports, architectural materials, and other evidence that allowed researchers to reconstruct the appearance and location of the long-lost church building.
