The Prodigal Witness

The Prodigal Witness The Prodigal Witness is a place for real conversation about the word of God and how it pertains to our everyday lives.

We have heard the stories from the Bible, now lets see them in todays life. We can also be heard on Apple and Spotify.

Mark 2 speaks of Matthew inviting Jesus as well as tax collectors and other people that were considered undesirable, to eat with them.
Jesus spoke to crowds of thousands at different times. He healed many and even raised people from the dead. But on the day he was taken to be crucified, many of those same people were there cheering his death on.
Jesus has called us to talk to everyone. The undesirable, the unlikely, the proud, the weak. If there is one thing I’ve seen over the years that holds true 100%, it is that if we Christians will tell everyone about Jesus, no matter if we “think” they will listen or not, then one of two things will happen. Either they will receive the word and believe, or they will be repelled by the word and they will leave. You cannot constantly hear the word of God without either being changed by it or the spirit controlling you will lash out and cause you to get away from the word of God. Either way, the truth of the word of God is either evidence in our favor or our conviction at our judgement when we kneel before Jesus on that day.

Never stop telling people about Jesus. Don’t decide for them if the word of God will impact them because it serves a purpose in everyone who hears it.

John prepared people for the coming of the messiah. He quoted Isaiah by saying, ““There is a voice of a man who calls out in the desert: ‘Prepare the way for the Lord. Make the road straight for him.’” Isaiah 40:3”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭1‬:‭3‬.

Later, after Jesus was on the cross, he quoted King David by saying, “My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭22‬:‭1

These are only two of the many scriptures that were quoted from Old Testament prophesies. It is very significant because this is who the Jews were. They were religious. Many didn’t give it much thought. Many lived sinful lives, but one thing the Jews had in common was they knew the word of God. It was their culture. Many may not have fully practiced it, but they knew the word of God.
So when prophesy began to be fulfilled in front of them and it wasn’t recognized, the words of the prophets were recalled out loud, which gave context to what was happening. Jesus came to bring back that relationship between God and man that was shared in the garden in the beginning. When we could talk to one another openly. Back when sin wasn’t something that we constantly sought to do. Always looking for ways to do something we know we shouldn’t. In the beginning it was just man and God and the love between them. This is what Jesus brings back. He leaves us with the Holy Spirit that equips us with the will to turn from sin, even though our earthly flesh continues to reach for sin. It’s a battle, but a battle we were not in before. Instead, we were being trampled on by sin daily. Jesus takes us away from the losing camp where we were just lost. He brings us to the winning side where we now battle against sin and are brought into relationship with God himself.
Now it is no longer about religion. It is all relationship.

Imagine if Jesus came directly to you and gave you verbal instruction and in person. What would you do?

Would you say to yourself, well things are different today than they were back in your day!?

Would you tell Jesus that he is behind the times?

Would you say to yourself, these are good things but only suggestions because of your grace, and I know you don’t mean this literally?

Or would you listen to his word, believe it and do what he says?

This is what Jesus said after he was raised from the dead.

“Then Jesus came to them and said, “All power in heaven and on earth is given to me. So go and make followers of all people in the world. Baptize them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach them to obey everything that I have told you. You can be sure that I will be with you always. I will continue with you until the end of the world.””
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭28‬:‭18‬-‭20‬ ‭ICB‬‬

He says God is Buddha, Allah, a Woman, Jesus was a barefoot prophet and God doesn’t care about your sin, especially sexual sin. He doesn’t understand nor believe the Bible. He is not right for Texas, much less America.

The book of Jude speaks about people who creep into the church with lies and false teachings, that carry people away from the truth and lead them to believe all kinds of lies. Example: homosexuality, adultary and fornication are not sinful, and those that die living in these sins won’t be punished.

It speaks about people who claim dreams and visions, that God gave them authority that is different from what the word says, or they begin to take on names and positions claiming God told them to do that.

It says that these people are already dead here on earth and dead spiritually. We are called to stay faithful and deny ourselves, so that we will not be swayed by lies. We should know what the word says by reading ourselves. We must build each other up as brothers and sisters, and stop tearing each other down. And show mercy for people and tell people the true word of God so they may hear and be saved.

In other words, stop thinking that there is something new happening with God. He said what he said long before we were born. Do what he said. He didn’t even let angels get away with disobedience. Be merciful to others because he is merciful to you. Be an example of Jesus. Not an example of the Jesus the world has tried to create.

Remember this. Jesus said if you loved him, you would obey his teachings.

My wife and boys went to the creation museum in Glenrose Tx yesterday. We have been there before and gotten to see a dinosaur track with a human footprint in it.
Yesterday the scientist there were telling the kids of several more dinosaur tracks with human footprints in them. They explained that these were most likely made as the great flood was just beginning. Evolutionist believe that man and dinosaur lived hundreds to millions of years apart. But pictures drawn of dinosaurs and footprints that were solidified by what only a major flood could have done, say differently. The scientist told a story of a Harvard evolutionary scientist that came to visit. When they tried to show him the dinosaur tracks with human footprints in them, he turned his head away and refused to look at them. They asked him again to look at the prints proving that men and dinosaurs existed together, but he kept his head turned away, like a child who refuses to eat food that’s in front of him. He knew that if he saw them he would have to confront his belief.
Never mind the actual ark that Noah built for the flood has been found and is still in its original resting place at the foot of Mt Ararat as the Bible says. Nevermind the chariot wheels and horses bones at the bottom of the Red Sea that are documented, proving the scriptures of Moses to be true. Never mind the prophesies of the Bible that play out everyday for the world to see. Those who don’t want to know will continue to turn their head. It’s easier to make up our own world and live in it than to be confronted by the fact that this world actually means nothing and Jesus and his ways are all that there is in life. Our pride and our own ideas of life are what destroys us. The two most prominent pieces of evidence of God and his creation are life and death. You can take life for granted because it’s all you have experienced. But death is coming for us all. We cannot control it and it will take everyone. Be prepared for it and for what comes after. Don’t let pride and ignorance rule you until you are found standing in front of the one who judges your eternity.
