Here’s Day Five — Come to the Well
When Kindness Has Been Tested
There comes a place in life where kindness gets tested.
Not when everybody’s loving you.
Not when doors are opening.
Not when people are clapping for you.
I’m talking about those moments when somebody misreads your heart… questions your motives… forgets what you’ve walked through with them… or speaks about you like they never really knew you at all.
That’s where kindness becomes real.
I’ve learned over the years—whether I was walking into strip clubs, jail cells, hospital rooms, or just standing in line at the grocery store… people are carrying things you can’t see.
A broken childhood.
A shattered marriage.
Fear.
Rejection.
Shame.
Loneliness.
And hurt people… well… hurt people.
But healed people?
Healed people carry water.
Holy Bible says in Ephesians 4:32:
“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”
That scripture doesn’t hit the same when life is easy.
It hits different when your heart has a bruise on it.
When you could pull back… but you don’t.
When you could get hard… but you won’t.
When you could match somebody’s attitude… but instead, you choose to carry His presence.
That’s strength.
At the Well Today:
Before you speak… ask, “Will what I’m about to say leave healing… or leave a wound?”
Because this world doesn’t need louder voices.
It needs people who carry living water.
Prayer
Father, let me be kind without becoming weak… strong without becoming hard… and loving without losing who You’ve called me to be. Use my life to bring healing wherever my feet walk.
In Jesus’ name… amen.
