There is this olive tree in front of our lanai. Every year, wasps built a nest in it. Once they abandon it, other creatures move in. Yesterday, an egret landed on one of the branches to take a break. I saw the Florida Sandhill Crane enjoy the shade of the trees. Armadillos try to dig holes underneath, and plenty of birds enjoy the branches. I am amazed how many animals are blessed by this one tree. This is how God created it. If one tree can bless so many animals, imagine how many lives we can touch and heal in the power of God's Holy Spirit? We are called to be a blessing. ~Pastor Andreas

One of the hardest lessons to learn is to be comfortable with getting judged by others. Jesus was judged from all sides. Some called him a drunkard! Some judged him to be a fraud! Others considered him a scam artist or possessed by demons. Jesus was comfortable with getting judged. It doesn't mean it doesn't hurt. It does mean that how we view ourselves depends God's judgment alone: "You are my beloved child! With you I am well pleased. I am for you and not against you. I will never leave you." No one can undo this judgment of God over you. ~Pastor Andreas

In your weakest moment, God's strong hands hold you. In the lonely night, God sits with you to dry you tears. In the moment of fiery anger, God's grace is balm for your soul. In the moments of terrifying worries, God calms your spirit. In the moments of hopelessness, God reignites your heart. The moments change. One thing will never change: God is at your side. ~Pastor Andreas

It is there! Behind locked doors! When no one sees you! You no longer need to pretend! You no longer need to keep you guard up. Sometimes you cry! Sometimes you scream and give the pillow a good punching. Sometimes you throw yourself on the bed, close your eyes and want to forget everything. Strangely, when Jesus taught his disciples how to pray, he told them to go into a room and lock the door behind them (Mt. 6:6). Because prayer is not playing a game. It is not a religious exercise, trying to prove something to God. It is just about being you and God. Crying! Screaming! And in that moment you feel that with God, you never need to pretend. God just closes his arms around you. God holds you. You find peace again! In the arms of God! In prayer! ~Pastor Andreas

Radical grace! It's so, so scary! God just loving and accepting you! Without any conditions! Without any strings attached! Without any agenda. Just pure love! What if you are wrong? Such a thing cannot exist! For sure, God expects something from you to deserve his love, or? Just a little! But it is true! Grace alone! We bring nothing to the table! And God gives us all! In the rays of radical grace, your heart is set free and heals. God sets you free from all the chains people try to put on you! Radical grace is complete freedom! Stop overthinking everything. You can spend every free second of the day thinking about the problem and trying to figure things out, but it will not lead you one step closer to a solution. Overthinking leads to worry. It is really simple: Trust God! Pray! He has taken care of you so far. He will not suddenly abandon you. ~Pastor Andreas

If you would read your life story in a book without knowing it is about you, you would be in awe about the strength and resiliency of the main character. But when you reflect on your own life, you often come down hard on yourself. Stop coming down hard on yourself. Be in awe about the strength God gave you. Nothing could defeat you. Nothing could break you. You have seen the worst of times, but through it all it brought out the best in you. ~Pastor Andreas

Lametations 3:22-23 says that God's strength and mercies are new every morning. Don't let your head attack your heart and scare you about all the things that could happen tomorrow. Yes, tomorrow will bring new challenges and problems. But tomorrow will also bring new strength and mercy from God. And God's strength will always prevail over all challenges. ~Pastor Andreas

You have survived, you have overcome, you have thrived through everything life has thrown at you. At times, it was really hard. At times, you wondered if this is the end. At times, you wondered what you did to deserve it. At times, you just cried and screamed. At times, you just hid. But once it all passed, you got up and soared. Indeed, you are strong. Because Christ in you is stronger than anything life can throw at you. And no matter what, you will always overcome! ~Pastor Andreas

Prayer is not about the words, but the heart. Jesus said to not make many words when you pray (Mt. 6:7). In prayer, you bring your heart to God. Sometimes, no words are needed to pray, just tears. Don't worry about the right words. Just come and be with God. The cries of the heart are more powerful than the words of eloquence. ~Pastor Andreas
