Our strategy will be to “incarnate” ourselves as a fresh expression of God’s kingdom through authentic, “no-strings-attached” relationships and tangibly meeting needs that are within our ability to meet. We will love each other where we are and journey together to be what we can become.

This month we’re celebrating Leon Rodriguez, an essential member of our Usher Team.

A little about him: When he’s not serving at GP, you’ll likely find him weight training or getting in a solid cardio session, fly fishing in the summer and ice fishing in the winter, riding his Harley on Colorado roads or target shooting and working through a good crossword puzzle. But, most importantly — spending time with one of his greatest blessings, his grandson, who lives with him three days a week.

Service has always been part of Leon's DNA. Over the years he has volunteered with: adults with developmental disabilities, Youth and adolescents programs supporting marginalized youth, adult men navigating addiction and recovery. His roles have centered around support, mentoring, and counseling, meeting people right where they are. Volunteering at Genesis Project has given him the chance to serve in a deeply spiritual way — something he values immensely. He shares that the people he has met here have been supportive, encouraging, and instrumental in his spiritual growth. “It’s hard to put into words how important that has been.”
