~ August 24 - Feast of St. Bartholomew, Apostle ~
Saint Bartholomew is one of the Twelve Apostles, and mentioned in three Gospel lists (Matthew 10:3; Mark 3:18; Luke 6:14).
In the gospel of John, Bartholomew is called Nathaniel but Scholars and 9th Century Tradition suggests Bartholomew and Nathaniel are one and the same. He is invited by Philip to meet Jesus and although skeptical at first, later in a transforming moment, Bartholomew experiences the real presence of God.
