In Bible class, we learned about The Parable of the Sower and the different kinds of soil Jesus described. The soil reminds us of the condition of our hearts and how we receive God’s Word.
The children enjoyed getting their hands in the soil and planting seeds as we talked about having “good soil” hearts.
Just as a seed needs good soil to take root and grow, God’s Word needs a willing and obedient heart. When our hearts are like the good soil, we will listen to God’s Word, accept it, obey it, and grow in our faith.
Our prayer is that these little hearts will always be good soil—ready to hear God’s Word and let it grow in their lives.
“But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it…” — Matthew 13:23
Good soil. Good hearts. Growing in God’s Word!
