Text: Ephesians 5:5-6 ESV
“For you may be sure of this, that everyone who is sexually immoral or impure, or who is covetous (that is, an idolater), has no inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. 6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.”
Title: “Don't Be Deceived”
Big Idea Statement: Sin is never as harmless as it appears. It reveals what we love, affects where we're headed, and brings us under God's judgment.
CTI: Paul warns believers that sin reveals an idolatrous heart, forfeits God's inheritance, and brings God's judgment.
FCF: We are prone to minimize sin, excuse sinful desires, and believe lies that make sin seem less serious than God says it is.
SCI: “Don't be deceived about sin.”
Interrogative Question:
Why is sin more dangerous than it appears?

•Don't be deceived. Sin leads somewhere.
