Our next Fellowship Meal is TOMORROW night (Wednesday, August 19) starting at 6pm. We'll have grilled barbeque chicken, and all are invited to bring their favorite side dish and/or dessert. I've been meaning to post a couple of songs here that I mentioned in the message over the last several weeks.

The first song was in the context of having faith to get through when we're in the middle of the messy parts of life, in light of the issues with Jacob and Esau and Isaac and Rebekah. It's called "Where There Is Faith" by a group called 4Him back in 1990. Like I've said before, it's a little bit 90's-tastic, so take the style for what it is, but it's a powerful song with awesome lyrics:

The second song came up last week. As we saw Jacob fleeing for his life from his brother, seemingly left with nothing in the middle of nowhere with nobody. With a rock for a pillow and dirt for a bed, in what probably felt like his personal hell, Jacob discovered through a vision from God that he was actually just camping right off of the front porch of the Lord, in heaven's front yard, on holy ground. His story aligns a lot with all of ours, one way or another, which is the message in the song "Breakdown" by Andrew Ripp:
