Happy Thursday!
I hope you are doing great today! I am working on a project that just seems like it's never going to be finished. Are you working on something that doesn't seem to have an end date? My project is less of an individual task but instead a list of things that need to get done this summer, or at least this year. I have to start by breaking it down into individual chunks. So, I have a broken down version of my to-do list that has it broken down by priority, ease, and cost... The reality is that the work still needs to be done, I still need the materials to do the tasks, and the outcome should still be the same.
So, if we do that in our lives when there seems to be a large insurmountable mountain to climb, why don't we do the same thing with our walk with Christ. We can't fathom that the rescue team is coming, we hear every week that all we need to do is surrender to Jesus. All we need to do is just let our hands off the controls. But we still, for some reason, think that we need to finish up a couple things before we let go. "Jesus you can take over once I get to this stage in life..."
As I was reading the week I came across Ester who found favor in chapter 2 among the King and the people of Persia, Esther also had the perfect mentor in her cousin Mordecai, and in Esther chapter 4 we see that she was placed in her position for "Such a time as this."
My point in this is that God didn't place you here to get bogged down behind confusion and chaos, God put you here for such a time as this to grow and be grown. You don't need to know everything all at once, in fact you just need to know the very next step.
Listen, I want to challenge you to not get bogged down in the details and just move one step closer to God. That step can be renouncing a sin that has held you down, it can be opening up your Bible 3 times this week, it can be praying 2 times today, it can be simply waking up in the morning and repenting for yesterday and asking him to walk with you today.
I hope this challenge is something you will find helpful in this complicated life. I am praying for you as I write this. Go and be different...
All my love,
Pastor Justin
