Hello Church,
I come to you this week excited about what is coming and grateful for what has happened. I want to be honest with you, this summer has been rough, but here is the reality that I stumbled across this week, we look to Jesus as the founder and perfecter of our faith, because he saw the joy in what tomorrow will bring.

I want to ask you, what are you joyful for? I don't mean what makes you happy, but what brings you joy? Jesus is the founder, meaning our faith came from him who died for us. But it also says that he is the perfecter of our faith meaning that we are made complete in Him, because none of us are perfect. I struggle with the thought that I would be someone to die for, I struggle with the thought that I can be worthy of that honor, but also that I could be worthy of that calling.

The reality is that God called you out of the darkness and into the light for a reason. We were made to suffer through the moments we get to confess Jesus as Lord of my life. We are made to suffer through the moments we feel far from God, because it is only more so, pushing us back to him as our Lord. For these reasons, Hebrews 12:1-2 are my favorite verses. They have come up from various places over the past week, and it has reminded me that Jesus as I were always going to meet at the cross, me with my brokenness in hand, and Jesus with his perfect GRACE.

Listen church, whatever you're going through this week Jesus' perfect love on the cross was and always will be enough to get you through as the founder and perfecter of a faith in a perfect tomorrow in heaven. I love you, and I am praying for you.

All my love,
Pastor Justin

Hello Church,
I hope you week is going well! This week has been such a cool week. The kids are going back to school, and are getting back into a routine. As a household we are getting back to the reality that every week day there are things that we need to get done, laundry, dishes, showers, cooking meals, cleaning the bedrooms, all of which went largely undone during the summer either because of travel, the kids were at Nana and Papa's, or we were out playing with friends until 11pm.
Nonetheless, routine is back. But, this has prompted the question, especially from Tucker, what other routines do we need? Are we missing a routine of reading, or praying, are we missing a spiritual routine? I am asking this question to our house as well as yours.
Because God saw you broken and lost, he sent Jesus as a means of GRACE for you and your sins. But he also gave us examples of what to do now. Now you're clean, you're living in a new life, you are walking away from old ways. But, what things replace your wild and crazy life?
Jesus is what saves you, and these four things are what follows as a product of that salvation. They are Prayer, Bible Reading, Fellowship and Rest. In that order, Prayer is only possible because of the relationship exchanged for Jesus' life on cross. Scripture reading and study are the ways that we are able to more closely learn and grow in relationship with God. Fellowship, this one is more about us as the church, the gathered ones who love on each other, sharpen each other and call on each other for help. Finally, we get to Rest. This is the thing God planned from the beginning, God just created everything in six days, and then on the seventh day he rested. If God did it, maybe we should too, but even more than that, maybe it was done intentionally. God created Adam to work, and his first day on the job, God said "Let's rest"...
So, today I would encourage you to pray, read, spend time together, and rest. But most importantly, examine your life and where God is pulling you. If you are feeling worn down maybe review your routines and adjust as needed. You have been prayed for today...
All my love,
Pastor Justin

One of the things I remember about my Dad, is the fact that, regardless of if he was tired from work or mad because of something that I did, he was always getting on my level. Playing with hot wheel cars on the ground in the front room, or playing football in the back yard on his knees, he was always on my level.

It signified that he knew where I was, he was seeing the world from my view, and he was looking me in the eyes. God, likewise sees you in your eyes, and he has been in your shoes, and he sees you in the world that you're in.

We read in Luke chapter 2, that Jesus came low. We see just how low he came. Being born in a manger, this signifying the lows that he would go be where you are and know what you’re going through. We then see in Philippians 2, the Jesus didn't count himself as special, but instead he emptied himself as a servant for us.

So today when you are feeling beat up by the world, when you're feeling like giving up because of struggles in sin, or when you're feeling depressed or weighed down by life, when you are mourning the loss of a loved one remember God is down there with you. God is on his knees with you in the midst of your life. God is signifying that I have been there, I see you, and I love you. This has been a ground breaking epiphany for me this week as I have wrestled with my past and my childhood. I will always remember my Dad kneeling on the ground in the middle of my adventure.

Today know that you are loved and prayed for.

All my love,
Pastor Justin
