We are affiliated with Reconstructing Judaism (the Reconstructionist movement) and the Synagogues Rising network.

Our Havdalah crafting worskhop and tish (table singing) on Saturday evening went wonderfully! Shoutout to Raya & Drewe for organizing and leading the workshop. 🙌

Drewe writes: "It felt so joyful in our sanctuary to see people engaging with creating their own ritual objects, learning songs & prayers, and then putting it all right to use the same evening. May the learning continue!" ✨

We're excited to welcome Dr. Bryan Roby from the University of Michigan ✨this Sunday evening✨ for a lecture, dinner and discussion, hosted by our Tzedek/Justice Committee.

We’ll hear from Dr Roby, then we’ll gather up a delectable meal of vegan tacos from Rocky at Nepantla Cafe- Mexicantown, Detroit, and settle in for conversation. We hope to see you there!

Come learn and practice the art of making Havdalah! ✨

Our facilitators will guide you in creating your own ritual objects for Havdalah, the ritual that marks the separation between Shabbat and the rest of the week.

Drewe and Raya will help you braid your own Havdalah candle, create a custom spice blend, decorate a box for storing ritual items, and teach you how to lead your own at-home Havdalah service.

Learn more and RSVP for the workshop, which will take place before our Havdalah song circle at 7 PM. Please RSVP by 5/20 so we can get the supplies!

Please join Detroit Jews for Justice (DJJ) and the Southfield Neighbors Action Committee (SNAC) for an upcoming Jewish-led Day of Action against ICE’s cruel immigration enforcement system. There will be dozens of actions across the country, coordinated in partnership with T'ruah and Bend the Arc.

In Metro Detroit, right in our backyard, REDICO is leasing an office to OPLA - the lawyers for ICE. Southfield residents DO NOT want ICE in their community. ICE is killing civilians, separating families, kidnapping students, and racially profiling our neighbors. As Jews, we know in our bones and through our moral teachings that this cruelty must stop.

Join us to send a clear message to REDICO: Jewish leaders and the Metro Detroit Jewish community demand that you cancel the lease with ICE! REDICO must be a good neighbor and refuse to do business with ICE.

Please note: this is a Jewish led action but ALL are welcome!
