On this day of Passion Week, Jesus was betrayed, arrested, and crucified—giving His life as the sacrifice for our sins (Matthew 26:47–27:50; Mark 14:43–15:37; Luke 22:47–23:46; John 18–19). What looked like defeat was actually the fulfillment of God’s plan of redemption, as Jesus willingly endured the cross for us. Today, we remember the cost of our salvation and respond with gratitude, surrender, and worship for the One who gave everything.

On this day of Passion Week, Jesus shared the Last Supper with His disciples, washed their feet, and prayed in the garden as He prepared to give His life (Matthew 26:17–46; Mark 14:12–42; Luke 22:7–46; John 13–17). In these moments, He showed us humility, sacrificial love, and complete surrender to the Father’s will. Today, we are called to follow His example—serving others, remembering His sacrifice, and trusting God even in life’s hardest moments.

On Wednesday of Passion Week—often called “Silent Wednesday”—Scripture records no public teaching from Jesus, but behind the scenes, betrayal was taking shape as Judas agreed to hand Him over (Matthew 26:14–16; Mark 14:10–11; Luke 22:3–6). While it may have seemed like a quiet day, God was still at work, even through unseen and painful circumstances. Today, we are reminded that even in the silence, God is moving—so we must remain faithful, trusting His plan even when we cannot see it.

On Tuesday of Passion Week, Jesus returned to the temple, teaching with authority, confronting religious hypocrisy, and calling out hearts that honored God outwardly but were far from Him (Matthew 21:23–23:39; Mark 11:20–12:44; Luke 20:1–21:4).
He also pointed His followers to the future, urging them to live with watchfulness, faithfulness, and readiness for His return.

Today, we are challenged to move beyond empty religion and live lives that are genuine, obedient, and fully devoted to Christ.

On Monday of Passion Week, Jesus returned to Jerusalem and demonstrated His authority over both fruitless religion and empty worship. On the way, He cursed the fig tree as a picture of spiritual fruitlessness (Matthew 21:18–19; Mark 11:12–14), and then entered the temple where He cleansed it, driving out those who had turned worship into profit (Matthew 21:12–17; Mark 11:15–18; Luke 19:45–48).

This day reminds us that Jesus is not impressed with appearances—He desires lives that bear real fruit and hearts that honor God in truth, not just in form.

We are so excited for Youth Sunday tomorrow here at Lisbon! Our youth will be leading worship, greeting and taking up offering! We are excited to experience the Lord with you tomorrow starting at 9:30 for Sunday School and for Service starting at 10:45!
