Good Shepherd Lutheran Church

Good Shepherd Lutheran Church GSLC is a progressive Christian church in The South,
creating brave space. GSLC is a progressive church in The South that worships Sundays at 10 a.m.

At worship, you will hear an eclectic mix of Southern rock, classical, and Scripture lessons from a global lectionary used by churches worldwide. Weekly communion, served by our young people, is open as a gift of Christ to all. We create space during worship for conversation so you can meet others and build community. Still, we recognize many of us have varying levels of comfort with social intera

ctions, so please engage the way you wish. Finally, because life is hard, and you may arrive at worship hurting, you will have the chance to receive the laying on of hands, anointing, and healing prayer. If what you experience at GSLC is surprising or new, that may be us being weird. Please be patient and try us again! No matter what, we hope worshipping with us is meaningful for you. Just off North College Avenue, GSLC is in midtown Fayetteville, AR. From North College, follow Rolling Hills Drive to its terminus at a three-way stoplight. GSLC is on the right. GSLC has two entrances, one off Rolling Hills Drive and the other off Old Missouri Road. Both entrances are wheelchair accessible. Exterior doors off the Rolling Hills Drive entrance parking lot lead to the sanctuary. Exterior doors off the Old Missouri Road entrance parking lot lead to the offices. Those visiting the GSLC campus Monday through Thursday should park on and enter the building from the Old Missouri Road side.

Lots of young people feel curious about the Bible while also feeling uneasy about the ways it gets used in culture and politics. So this summer, GSLC is trying an experiment: a “Religionless Bible Study” for teens.

Meeting Wednesdays from 6:00–7:30 p.m. beginning June 10th at Good Shepherd, the group will approach the Bible as a text worth understanding because it shapes literature, music, movies, language, history, and public life—and because it helps to know how to respond when scripture gets used (or misused) around or against you.

Curious, skeptical, religious, nonreligious, questioning, or somewhere in-between, your teen and their friends are invited.

❌ Not welcome: using the Bible study as a space to condemn LGBTQ people or debate their dignity and belonging.

June worship at GSLC will include a four-week Pride sermon series asking a question many LGBTQ+ people have carried for years: Does the church actually have good news for me?

Each week will focus on a different part of the Christian faith—Scripture, tradition, reason, and experience—while engaging with difficult texts, the church’s long history of change and reform, what we know about being human, and the testimonies people carry about God’s presence in their own lives.

Invite your family and friends!

There is something deeply good about a community choosing to be together in public, out in the open, with enough time to worship, eat, laugh, and linger.

Tomorrow, worship—including new member and graduate recognition—moves outdoors, followed by a potluck and games on the grounds. Outside Together is intentionally low-barrier. A good Sunday to return after time away or to invite someone along.

Bring a lawn chair, a dish to share, and a game if you have one.
